This is a great book describing the different passenger trains traversing the New England states. Though mainly focusing on the peak of passenger travel, it also delves into the decline as well. One thing to note is that the cover of the book is different than shown in the Amazon description. The book I received has a picture of Boston and Maine #3820 on the cover, not Maine Central #705. Also, the hardcover description is a little misleading, as the book isn't a traditional cloth hardcover with dust jacket, but rather a casewrap type of binding.

Another very good book on passenger service that no longer exists.

A well researched and written book. Much information that is new and well illustrated. A must have for those interested in New England and the Northeast and Canadian connections.
