I don't do a lot of reviews on Amazon, but I felt I had to comment on this book. I read a lot of Amish romance fiction, and this was probably THE BEST book I have read in this genre.

I know there are other authors who write the Amish romance novels, and I like a couple of those authors, but this is a GREAT read. It surpassed my expectations. I feel that Ms. Beckstrand is better than the well known writers of these types of books.

I loved this book and it totally held my attention. There was a lot of detail. The characters were very very well developed, and I wanted to keep reading and to know more about them. I felt like I was right there, living the story right along with them.

I love Ms. Beckstrand's style of writing. She really got into the details of the Amish way of life. There was a lot going on in the book, but it all tied in together and I just had a hard time putting it down. That tells me how much I love a book, if all I want to do is read it. I didn't want the book to end!

Please read this book. I eagerly await more books from this very talented writer.

I just finished "Rebecca's Rose" and am crying almost as much as Rebecca and Levi do. This was a beautiful story full of intense emotion that I could not stop reading. In addition to the emotion, there were some funny moments between Rebecca, Levi and their families and friends. For example, I love it that whenever Levi calls Rebecca "kid," she responded with a funny nickname like Bucky or Gimpy for Levi. Levi's grandparents are so funny, teasing each other and making inside jokes.

The scene when Rebecca finds out about Levi's secret was so powerful and sad to read, but so well-written. I loved her and Levi and their struggles to forgive. I enjoyed reading about Rebecca's love of flowers as well as her determination to do all of the things on the list Dottie Mae made, even though she was afraid. Levi is hard-working and very brave--I see why Rebecca fell in love with him.

Some of my favorite lines: (with apologies to poor Marvin, but those descriptions were so easy to picture)

"Getting her sister to do anything but the bare minimum was like expecting Marvin Yutzy to develop a personality."

"the human sleeping pill" (also about Marvin)

What a great book. I read it in one day because I could not put it down. The conversations between Rebecca and Levi had me laughing out loud so hard that my sister thought I had lost it. The book was well written and although you might be able to guess what was coming in the story you had no way of knowing how it would come about and the ramifications it would cause.

It is a great story about a budding romance between two unlikely people that did not start off as a romance but only as a convenience to meet a need. Rebecca had a list of things she wanted to experience that actually was the list of her best friend that was killed in a buggy accident when she was only 14. She wanted to experience them for her friend since she would never have the opportunity having died so young. Levi, an Englisher, was a convenient way to accomplish that goal before she was baptized in the faith. But neither of them expected or was prepared for the feelings they were beginning to have for one another. And this relationship could go nowhere because it was forbidden in Amish culture.

It was about love, fear, unforgiveness and grief. A lot of emotions and feelings that caused me to laugh out loud to the point of tears and caused me to feel their pain to the point of tears. Well worth the read.

I trully loved this book. If you have read the first in the Series - Kate's song, then you will be happy to know that both Kate and Nathaniel do appear towards the end of this book (they are referred to but don't take over this story). The story of Levi and Rebecca is as good a read. The story develops and flows nicely. I had always been mildly curious about the Amish, their belief and way of life and these books provide some insight. These are everyday people who try to follow as closely as possible the way of the Bible.

Rebecca is a hardworking young lady who falls for Levi the main male character. Levi was born Amish but raised as an 'Englischer', when his mum marries outside of the faith. Levi is caught between two worlds but has some regrets/secrets as a result of some of his shannigans as a young Englisch adult. As he tries to decide where his life is headed, he has to learn to forgive as well as receive forgiveness.

Rebecca has made a promise to a friend (whom she lost at a young age) to complete all the activities on her wish list (bucket list if you like). Some of these 'stunts' for want of a better word cannot be done within an Amish community so she enlists Levi to help her complete these activies - which include - driving, skiiing and riding on a roller coaster!!

As these two young people grow close together, there is still the issue of Levi's past lifestyle and his secret. Can Rebecca truly accept this young man and is there a way back for him should he decide to rejoin the Amish. Where does this leave his mum and sister (both of whom live in his Englisch world).

I would recommend this book for anyone who loves clean realistic romance novels.

Rebecca is living out her dead friends bucket list, which is interesting considering she's Amish. She meets a fellow in town and they become friends, but he has a dark secret. A secret that could have very easily, and almost did, wreck their friendship and future relationship. But with persistence and love he eventually succeeds in winning her heart and changing his life for the better. I'm not much into religious based love stories, but I found this a very interesting and moving read.

This book is sweet but at the same time one can feel the pain that sometimes accompanies love. The author doesn't forget that life can be hard but love can make it bearable....even wonderful. A great read.
