I started cooking as a hobby when the economy turned sour. I wasn't going out as much and needed to occupy my time in a creative way. Cooking scratched that itch and I discovered I could create some of the same dishes that I used to pay a lot of money for in overpriced restaurants. As my cooking skills evolved, I found that the recipes available to me limited how far I could grow. I found that a lot of recipes are overcomplicated for the sake of being over complicated and aren't worth the effort. That is not the case with this book. This book will keep me busy for months to come and beyond!!! The recipes are exotic and amazing. Some more complicated than others but every ingredient has it's purpose. More imporantly, the purpose is explained by the author. It is so great to discover new spices and ingredients. There are some recipes that I had to chuckle at. I have a particular affinity for Chilaquiles. There are very few places you can order this or would want to. It never occured to me to cook it myself.....until now, and it's way easy!!!! When I want to impress company or just scratch my culinary itch, this will be my go to book.

I have been a big fan of Jeffrey Saad since I first saw him on the Food Channel. I tried a lot of his recipes on the internet, so was excited to finally get the book.
I love the lay out and the bright colors and photos.
I like the explanations of the spices and the mix of "casual and company coming" type of recipes.
I usually add more spice amts than are listed in this book.
I highly recommend this book. I love the Steak with Harissa Mayo sandwich as well as the Seared Scallop Tacos with Green Chile Chutney.

I want to make every recipe in this cookbook. So far, I have made the salmon with sumac and it was outstanding. The Nutella crepes were a big hit with my family. The achiote chicken stew is my favorite. I wasn't intimidated as a home cook and the recipes are easy to follow.

I loved Jeffrey on the Next Food Network Star a few years ago and am THRILLED to finally have a way to make his yummy recipes in my own kitchen. The story of his family and their travels is wonderful bonus!

Exotic taste made easy, which is wonderful for weeknight cooking. When I get home from work, I'm not crazy about making anything, but Jeffery's recipes make exotic food very accessible. I'm usually too bored or tired to cook "the same old thing", so finding something new and different with very well-organized instructions is just the sort of help I need. It's perfect!

Not only do we ALL, my husband, my 2 children and I, devour the food, we enjoy the pictures and stories, the tastes and smells which seem to be conveyed in all the words chosen. The new ideas around spices, their combinations and the overall incredibly intuitive ways of putting together the foods and ingredients in this book, just makes me appreciate even more the world of that, which feeds my body, mind and soul daily. I need this creativity to keep me inspired and alive, and Jeffrey Saad is most certainly a master of this - Life, in all its fullness of tastes and smells and enjoyment, here I come thanks to this book!

I have not tried the recipes as yet, but they look wonderful!
