I am now at the lowest weight I have been in ten years and it was so easy to attain this weight loss. How can you call this program a diet? I've eaten steak, chicken, veggies, cheese and occassionally Peanut M & M's, ice cream and chocolate mousse!

I bought this book after trying a few different diets to get off the weight I gained when I quit smoking. I really only wanted to lose about 30 lbs. and had accepted that after age 30 I would just be fatter than I was at 20. I was wrong. I lost 75 lbs. and have my high school body back at age 40. I could not be more ecstatic. My energy level has increased exponentially. I couldn't believe it. You can take information from the diets explained in this book and customize to your own needs. It is not difficult and I have never been starving on this diet like I have on every other diet. Giving up sugar is the hardest part for me, but I still indulge..just much less often. I started this diet about a year and half ago and have not gained any of the weight back.

I've tried to lose my weight for many years, but i can't! I'm a food addict!

I bought this book in Kindle version.
after I finish reading it, I decided to follow this method.

And it's work! I lost 5 kg in a month even I ate a lot of food more than you can imagine!!!
... but It's not the best news for me yet!

I also went to hospital to check up my health.
My sugar level back to normal! And I had a really really bad level of SGPT in the last time. Normal people should has it around 0 - 50. but me, 277 !!
(I don't drink any alcohol by the way, doctor said I had too much fat in my liver and should avoid fat)

After I followed this low-carb diet and then I re-check it again.. AMAZING! My SGPT level decreased from 277 to 70!

And I did eat FAT! A lot of fat (sorry doctor). It's so amazing

I want to say more about a lot of good things of this book and this method. But my english is not very well. - -"

I checked up my health again on 8/2/2012 and wanna share the result.

Sugar : 84 N : 70- 100
Uric Acid : 7.5 N : 2.6 - 7.2 ( I think I ate too much chicken - -")
Cholesterol : 153 N : 150 - 200 (I eat 3-4 whole eggs everyday but It's still fine!)
Triglyceride : 48 N : 50 -150
HDL-C : 43 N : 32 - 68
LDL-C : 89 N : 0 -130
SGPT : 32 N : 0-40 (This is the one I used to have 277, and It's normal now ^^)

Before I tried this method,many people told me that LC is unnatural... how can we cut carb in every meal?! (and yes,in Thailand White rice is our main food)
But after everyone see my result. They all ask me how to do it now. lol

This book is absolutely it! Dana has a easy voice and you really enjoy reading it. I just can't say enough about this book. When a friend asked me the difference between Atkins and Paleo I have to admit I was unable to answer - not now! I own the New Atkins book and several other low-carb books. This is the only one I will ever recommend again. This review absolutely does not do the book justice but after feeling ripped off after reading other books that just regurgitated common knowledge, it was refreshing to have a book by a real person who has real experience and has done a ton of research.

I love this book! It has been one of the best books on weight loss that I have read in a long time. I'm only half-finished but I felt the need to come in and review since I have seen such dramatic changes already. After reading the book for a week and implementing a few changes in my diet, I've already lost 4lbs in 1 week!! Just imagine if I had been following her advice to the letter.

I like that Dana does include historical references and science to back up her claims but you are not bogged down with any scientific jargon. She makes everything so easy to understand and accessible for the reader. As far as I have read, Dana seems to be offering plenty of dieting options so readers can make choices and adjustments according to their lifestyle and dietary needs. There is nothing restrictive or demanding about her low-carb guide. I don't feel as if I must do it her way as some authors may make you feel. I am enjoying food again and feel inspired to continue. Off to finish the rest of the book!!! Buy this book...you won't regret it. It is also a great jumping off point if you want to do more research on low-carb eating. Carpender includes several references to current low-carb research as well as past, including the famous Atkins diet.

This book is an easy read and right on. As a registered nurse, and someone who has always been interested in healthy eating and weight controll I found this book mind blowing.. I also work with two registered dieticians. I thought I really understood healthy eating, but this is not what the mainstream information says. She talks about how the heart assiciation has influenced what we previously thought about healthy food, and why we are being taught wrong (that includes what I know as a health care provider and learned in nursing school). I was kind of skeptical at first, and really did some rescearch to validate the information. I found plenty of information to support it, and I look to professional sites for my information, not yahoo answers or something. I recently had my cholesterol tested, and my LDL(bad cholesterol) was 48 which is very low. My HDL (good) was so high that it was immeasurable! This woman has gathered some very valuable information and made it easy to understand. I have reccomended this to numerable friends, about 5 so far that have bought the book and also loved it.
