I have only read about 30 pages of this book, but LOVE IT!!! It has so much information. I've only been a vegetarian for a couple of months, but it's so helpful about the nutritional side. If every American read this book, obesity would decrease a hundred fold. How much you body needs and how much a typical America eats is astounding.

If every American read this book, obesity would decrease a hundred fold. How much you body needs and how much a typical America eats is astounding. I'm not saying everyone needs to make the change to vegetarianism, but if people read more about what their bodies need and can do with out, we would be better off.

Being vegetarian is not just about not eating meat...this book helps a lot when you are just getting started.

Bumand
This was an impulse buy. It's terribly out of date and not well written, but there are some recipes and it was a cheap book, so I'm not griping. I will give it to the library when they have their annual used book drive.

Zulkigis
well written and easy to read and understand. after i read it I passed it along to a friend who is a new veggie because I think she will get a lot of good info from it.

This is a good book for new vegan. I decided two months ago to become a vegan but I never was great with vegetables. This book gives you great shopping tips and recipes to try. Also, strategies on being a healthy vegan and the different types.

The book has some good tips. Some of it is pretty much obvious. I read some reviews and others found the book a little preachy. I but decided to give it a try. While the authors say they aren't trying to persuade anyone, the very first chapter seems to be selling the idea of vegetarianism rather than educate readers on it. However, if you are already vegetarian and/or feel passionate about your decision, than this is probably a good read. v
