Legend 33
The 2006 edition of the Screen World Film Annual is a wonderful treat for anyone crazy about movies. The book is beautifully laid out with statistics and over 1,000 photos of movies released in 2005. Screen World includes domestic and foreign film releases, promising new actors, biographical data and obituaries. This is the 57th volume and I am proud to say I have every edition. I highly recommend Screen World, it's the best film annual there is!

Screen World 57 is a valuable collectors item for the movie buff to the film afficiaado. It contains reviews of every major film released in the U. S. and abroad. I have purchased this book every year since 1972. I wonder what this collection could be worth?

If movies are your thing (and they are mine) this is the book to get to remind you of the past year in movies. We are talking indies, foreign, b movies and of course Academy Award winners. Volume 57 already? Can't wait for #58!

With web sites such as imdb and allmovies, a book of movie credits may not be necessary anymore.

It should be in libraries, though.

Still, the best of its kind!

In one printing or another, this latest edition bring my collection

up to date.

Have been saving Screenworld since 1979 - present and Love them. This is the first edition that has color pictures to my recollection. These pictures gives it more class and in the long run will have more people buying the book.

The information found is great.

My rating dropped a star with this volume because of its design. Change is not always a good thing and the format for this and the last few editions dropped the standard considerably. The dust jacket is fine but overall this new design with its rather unattractive photographic layout needs to be improved on. But on the plus side and there are many such plusses, Screen World still delivers the goods in covering the 2005 film year in its usual comprehensive style. A heavy handful coming in at 466 pages with a very nice 14 pages of color highlights, this volume boasts all the features that we have come to love about this sturdy annual. A solid year of releases which included "Brokeback Mountain", "Crash", "The Constant Gardener", "Capote", "Transamerica", "Good Night, and Good Luck", "Mysterious Skin", "Munich", "Syriana" and among the usual gamut of remakes, sequels and prequels, a very good version of old "King Kong".

I get so busy, that sometimes I don't even realize the movies that hit it big in the theatres. This book is a wonderful resource for every significant film, whether American or foreign, that was released in 2005. It has great pictures and brief synopsis. There is a section on promising new actors, Academy Award Winners and Nominees, Top box office stars and films, biographies, obituaries...everything for a movie-lover. I would highly suggest Brokeback Mountain, Pride & Prejudice, Memoirs of a Geisha, Walk the Line, and many many more!
