I read the whole series of 6, liked each one as well as the last. I've never read an Avi book I didn't like.

Poppy is the first-published of Avi's Tales From Dimwood Forest series. Within the narrative sequence of the series, it is the second book. The complete series is composed of Poppy, Poppy and Rye, Ragweed, Ereth's Birthday, Poppy's Return, and Poppy and Ereth. In 1996, Poppy received the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award for fiction.

When I was a teenager I had a hard time finding books that interested me. Avi has not only helped me enjoy reading again but my children also enjoy his books. My youngest daughter loves the Dimwood Forest Series and is one or two short of the complete set. To all parents, as an author, Avi has an assortment of genres for the undecided young adult and beginning reader.
