This great book is simple, but shows clearly how primary colors mix to form the secondary colors. I do many activities based on this book, and the children really enjoy mixing paint to make their own colors.

This book is great for my younger students as it introduces them to the concepts of primary colors, secondary colors, and mixing colors. Perfect for basic elementary level color theory. The students also love the story and the cute pictures of the mice scurrying around throughout the book. I originally checked this book out at a local library to experiment with on my kindergarten/VPK classes and they loved it! More importantly, it helped them remember colors and so forth, so I decided to pick up a copy for myself due to that success and it's now officially recommended in our art curriculum. :)

This book is about 3" x 4". Description doesn't say it's a miniature book. I expected the board book to be about the same size as the regular book (7x9) . I am a teacher and I planned to read this book to my class and hold the book up for students to see. They won't be able to see this!

I almost didn't order this book. I was narrowing down which ones to get, and it almost didn't make the cut. I'm so glad I got it. My 2 year old granddaughter loves it. It is almost always one she grabs off the shelf to read. Would definitely recommend!

I love Mouse Paint! So did my children, many years ago. And now that my daughter is married and living in Mexico, it's delightful to find a Spanish version for my new granddaughter. As Ellen Walsh illustrates color mixing (primary to secondary colors), she allows her curious mice to dip, dance, and spin. But watch out--the cat is nearby! How will our clever mice escape being eaten? Dear reader, I can't reveal the ending--but you'll love it as much as we do.

This is my favorite of the "Mouse" books. It is an adorable story & I've used it at nature camp with 3 yr. olds & they love it. I made up a song that I tell the children the mice sing while they are mixing the paints: "Give me red, give me blue, bring it over here, mix them all together, and purple will appear. Next we sing red & yellow...and orange will appear and the last verse is yellow & blue...and green will appear. Later when they are mixing paints, we all sing the song together. Such a fun way to learn about colors!

Lo◘Ve

This is a book we initially found at the library and loved so much that we purchased it. It is an excellent way to introduce color mixing to children. Our kid was just shy of two when we first read it. Combine this with your own paint mixing activity, and you have yourself an educational afternoon! We've also given this book as a gift accompanied with finger paints.

It was smaller than I thought it would be, and the purple is slightly off and just kind of looks like a dark blue (which is not great for a book about colors), but is really cute still. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise.

The book itself is a great kids book. I bought it for my brother's kids for Christmas because he and I loved it when we were kids. I love kids books having English and Spanish like this, and it was perfect for his bilingual family. Loved it as a kid, love it as an adult.
