The magic of the stories in this book is very powerful, and in the hands of a master storyteller they have the freshness of stories told for the first time. There are traditional tales of great beauty, such as "Tam Lin" and "MacCodrum of the Seals"; exciting adventures-"The Adventures of Iain Direach" and "The Ailp King's Children"; and shrewd, simple fables like "The Fox" and "The Little Bannock", all of which will delight small children.

Sweet little book with wonderful fairy tales. It's part of a gift for my sister who lives on Loch Lomond in Arkansas. The Loch is mentioned by name in one story. This arrived much sooner than the estimated dates I received when ordering. It was just as described in Amazon.

Robert Wallace(The Would-Be Herbalist on Kindle): This collection, previously released as Scottish Folk-tales and Legends, is a well-written, entertaining collection of stories varying from two to three to fifteen pages in length. Fairy stories, semi-historical legends and tales of the Fianna are all to be found within. Strikes the right notes in its descriptions, moods and tones, its characters and in their dialogues. While intended for children these stories can also be enjoyed by adults, much like Padraic Colum's retelling of Irish and Norse legends and tales.
