What do you think! went on the Catlady

What do you think! went on the Catlady. Our dear departed Queen is come to stay! Edward VII may now be King of England, but here at Ponsonby Place Victoria still reigns! Mu, said Percival in a bored voice, and Florence echoed, Mu. And they climbed off the four-poster and made their way down the curving staircase toward the dining room, for it was time for tea.

Ronald Gordon King-Smith OBE, Ho. Ed (27 March 1922 – 4 January 2011), was a prolific English writer of children's books, primarily using the pen name Dick King-Smith.

Crowstarving was the ideal job for Spider - he was on his own - yet never alone, for all around him were animals of one sort or another. Discovered as a foundling in a lambing pen, Spider Sparrow grows up surrounded by animals. From sheep and horses to wild otters and foxes, Spider loves them all, even the crows must scare away the newly sown wheat. Farmer Hoggett thinks the piglet he wins at the fair is just one to be fattened up for the freezer until his old sheepdog, Fly, takes Babe under her wing and starts to train him to be a sheepdog too.

As long as her cats were well fed, she herself was content with very simple fare, and she seldom kept much in the house. Now, however, she was not long in providing some good hot soup and some bread. and cheese for the young stranger, and not until the girl had finished eating did she press her further. Now tell me your name. If you please, madam, said the girl, my name is Mary Nutt. But tell me, Mary, said the Catlady, where are your parents?. Mary's not very old, she thought. Fourteen, perhaps? Dead, Mary replied.

Dick King-Smith writes books about animals and he is very good at it! . Sweet book about an old lady who loves cats. I wouldn't read it to an impressionable child because the cats are reincarnated rellies.

Dick King-Smith writes books about animals and he is very good at it! He is the author of the beloved Babe: The Gallant Pig that you may have seen as a movie. Also by King-Smith is Funny Frank, The Golden Goose, Lady Lollipop, and many more. Feb 14, 2016 Robyn rated it liked it. A charmingly simple book, I wouldn't put this among Dick King Smith's best, but is short and sweet enough to read aloud in one sitting with younger elementary school age kids. Guinevere rated it it was amazing Feb 16, 2010.

Muriel lives alone with lots and lots and lots of cats. But Muriel's cats are no ordinary cats - they were once people she knew, now reincarnated in feline form! Muriel shares her house with various (deceased!) members of her family, and one rather special cat - the late Queen Victoria! An unusual tale of animal madness!

FUNNY REINCARNATION AT ITS BEST.....a great read for people 6 to 60. My grandaughter loved it..shes 6 and we believe in getting signs from our dearly departed like when a monarch butterfly circles her she believes its her great grandfather watching over her so she got a kick out of this book.

An extremely British story, talking about social traditions that are difficult for American children to understand. When this is combined with reincarnation, Dick King-Smith created a cute tale with very limited appeal, in my opinion as a grandparnet and retired school librarian.
