WHO KILLED HARLOWE THROMBEY (Choose Your Own Adventure, No 9). Edward Packard. Hyperspace (Choose Your Own Adventure, No. 21). I'm positive I read this Choose Your Own Adventure book as a kid because I remember the title and cover, but because it was a spy/mystery type book, I didn't get very into it.

In 2005, Choose Your Own Adventure books once again began to be published, but none of Edward Packard's titles have yet been included among the newly-released books. Other books in the series. Choose Your Own Adventure (1 - 10 of 185 books). Books by Edward Packard.

You (the real Edward Packard)established many of these conventions-The Mystery of Chimney Rock, for instance .

You (the real Edward Packard)established many of these conventions-The Mystery of Chimney Rock, for instance, is the first appearance of many of them. When Bantam launched the Choose Your Own Adventure series, they insisted that you be depicted as a male, maintaining that girls will read books about boys, but boys won’t read books about girls. Unsurprisingly, some girls complained about this, and when a new girl-oriented series, called Baby Sitters Club, became popular, CYOA sales slumped.

This is a list of books in the Choose Your Own Adventure gamebook series and its various spin-off series. These books are written for a simpler reading level than the main series and have less severe "bad endings". These books involve the worlds of the many different Disney films and featurettes. These books are longer and more complex than the books in the regular series. This series is more educational and casts the reader as a member of a globe-trotting news team.

choose your own adventure. You gotta wear your own skin To be who you are Give yourself the freedom Don't be someone you're not Believe me there's a hero in everyone Waiting to be found Just know you're not alone

Waking up in a ditch with no identification and no memory, the reader must survive an adventure with a street-smart runaway, a twisted family, and the producers of movie thrillers, who all claim they have the key to his identity

4 stars or more with these books means you can find a happy ending in the book. some don't have any.

I enjoyed some parts of this book, but other parts much less so. The explanation for why you have amnesia is always the same. I was thinking it would neat if you found out that you were somebody interesting, but you are always some nondescript kid who was mistakenly kidnapped. Kidnapping is a frequent theme in these CYOA books, it seems. By the way, so is describing a luxurious environment as having a VCR -- happens in at least 1 out of 4 books.

I *knew* I couldn't trust the Crusoes, who try to keep me when they find out I can't remember my real family. Hitchhiking works once before you get to make a choice, but your odds of having a bad hitchhiking experience after this are 50-50. (Kids, don't hitchhike, no matter what you read in books.) Astrology can't be trusted, just like it usually can't, and Daredevil Park, the title of another CYOA book, is visited by me in this book. The first non-Cave of Time cross-reference I came across.

There is a great illustration of some doctors in a Hospital with a canister ashtray prominently featured in the foreground. This was in the 1990s! Actually, the illustrations were all quite good.

I meet some interesting people, mostly nice and helpful. In one ending, I single-handedly stop the police from prosecuting the Crusoes, and in another, they are tried and acquitted of kidnapping, because they didn't restrain or abuse me. They were convicted of other things.

My escape from the orphanage went surprisingly well, and the when I get fostered by a rich and famous movie producer, the narrator makes sure to tell me that my foster sister is unattractive -- rather than explicitly telling me not to go there.

Very often, it is just as easy as you expect it would be to find who I am, since my parents did report me missing, but other times, the question of my identity seems to be more or less an afterthought.

This book doesn't breakout as a star, but it was honestly better than I thought.
