Goldbug & Co. is a decent introduction to characters Richard Scarry uses elsewhere, and it tells about the process of rebuilding a road-an interesting topic, especially for kids who will travel a lot during the summer and see lots of road construction. However, the words in the text do NOT roll off the tongue, so I wouldn't recommend this book for parents who have the slightest tendency to stutter.
