by Carol Sperandeo and Bill Zimmerman. I personally love the concept of this book, because love letters aren’t just written between lovers. And what better place to put a love letter to your child than in the lunch box?

by Carol Sperandeo and Bill Zimmerman. They can be written from a parent to a child or, in the case of this book, from two parents to their children. And what better place to put a love letter to your child than in the lunch box? The authors of this book met with so much encouragement from their own children that they decided to write a book for other parents. It includes sample letters and even perforated paper that you can rip out and use to write your notes on. It’s just too easy!

Children are subjected to great stress and anxiety while growing up in a dangerous and fast changing world. Parents struggle too, especially to find ways to communicate with their children and to show how much they care. This practical and valuable little book presents a proven method of staying in touch with your children throughout their school years.

Lunch Box Letters is the result of the experience of two parents who -- separately -- wrote notes to their children on a regular basis and were immensely encouraged, by the results. Now they show how you can use their successful method to communicate with your own kids. They provide sample letters to let you see just how simple these little notes are to write - and how important they are to both parent and child. They also answer common questions that parents raise, such as 'Where do I find the time?' 'What if I have three kids?' or 'What if I'm a lousy speller?'

As the authors make perfectly clear, you do not have to be Shakespeare to write lunch letters. (In fact, it's probably best if you're not.) Your children just want to hear your voice - to know that you care enough to write a few words for them to read in the middle of the day.

Lunch Box Letters contains 75 sheets of colorful notepaper, perforated and ready for you to tear out and use. Just add a few words and tuck the finished letter into your children's lunch boxes. They will be thrilled. And you'll find that with this book to help you, the message takes almost no time at all.

Some of the letters that Carol and Bill have written are simple expressions of love, notes of encouragement, or appreciation of the progress that children make in growing up. Some are designed to help kids overcome uncertainty, some are even apologies. And some are written simply for fun.

The Sinners from Mitar
I was apprehensive about sending notes in my 9 year old son's lunch. I was afraid it might embarrass him or get him teased. At first, he didn't say very much about them. So, after a bit, I stopped sending them thinking that maybe he didn't want to hurt my feelings. That day he asked why I hadn't sent a note. He said he missed it. :-) Also, he confided that his friends wished their moms wrote them a note too. Now I try to send a note at least 3 days a week. I love this little book. It has sweet ideas -- and though the pages are a little hard to rip out at first, they do just fine. Very fine way to connect with a very important person in your life in a busy world.

The first forty-three pages of Lunch Box Letters provide a guide and sample letters to help parents communicate with their children, "even grown children." The idea is simple, yet most of us do not think to add a quick "I love you" note that will be discovered later in the day, much to the delight of the recipient.
As the book says, "Written notes provide a complement to all the hugs and kisses your provide."
The next 75 pages are colorful papers with headers and graphics for writing the notes. These can be tucked inside a lunch box, briefcase, purse, or whatever. There are several birthday, Halloween, and Valentine pages for multiple recipients. As you tear out the pages the book will begin falling apart, but the confidence of the ones who get the notes will grow.
For the information, ideas, and colorful papers, this is well worth the cost. Who knows, it might just make your day as well. Five stars.

This book is cute, but the other reviews are correct...not enough general use pages! Almost all of them say something like 'I'm sorry', 'Happy Birthday', lots of Halloween pages, etc. I wish there had been more just blank or joke pages. Still, now I have special paper for these occasions for the future years.

It's so easy
We've ordered this book twice, and these are the pros and cons we've found:

PROS
1) Each sheet has a headline, like "You're a Special Kid" or "Miss You", so you can specialize your note to your child.
2) Each sheet comes with a riddle or joke printed on the bottom. My daughter and I would laugh at these all the time and I found her often retelling them to others!
3) it has a lot of space to write my your own note, unlike just about every book out there like this (at least that I found).

CONS
1) It has way too many notes for special occasions (i.e. several "Happy birthday!"). My daughter only has one birthday, we don't need 5 letters to celebrate that.
2) It does not contain enough sheets for the entire year. My daughter looked forward to getting a note every day from me, but we typically ran out mid-way through the school year, or just use one of the several "happy birthday" or "happy halloween" sheets and cross out the heading.

Despite the negatives, we would still definitely order this book again. It is the ONLY one out there that we found that allows you so much space to write a unique, love-filled note to your child on very cute paper and truly make your child's day special by letting them know you're always thinking about them.

Seller Review:
First I would like to thank the seller for being so professional and informative!!!
I got an email from amazon asking me to write a comment - I thought it was about the PRODUCT and I didn't realize i was leaving a comment for the seller. Either or I briefly mentioned that the book had one page ripped out before getting the book. However since I love the book and the price of the book was so CHEAP I thought oh well....
Turns out the seller sent me an email ASAP saying how sorry they were as they didn't realize it was missing a page. Processed a refund (never even asked for one - as like I said I love the book regardless) and then explained what my review did and how much they care...

There should be more companies/people like them! Great customer service!

Product Review:
Personally I love this book. I always have great ideas and but often find myself not knowing what to say. With all the encouragement and reference points in this book made is so easy for me to write a cute creative note for my children. My daughter this morning told me how much she loved my note and how "cool" she felt to have a mommy write a cool poem. LOL --- I stole it from the book!!!! :) Either or I love this book! Just another great way to remind my children how much I love them and keep the communication going!!!

These notes are perfect for daily lunches. My kids look forward to them and the hints about what to write it helpful too for those mornings I'm struggling with my thoughts or a frustrating child.

My kids love getting these in there lunch boxes. It's just a little way to show them you care. When they get home from school they share there jokes with everyone and it's a great way to just start communication and say I love you.

My son loves finding these in his lunch box. I wish the headings were less restrictive, and more diverse or just left open. Glad for purchase.
