Without the proper context the amateur may immediately begin to wonder if their swing is on the right plane. To work a golf shot left to right you have several options with different flight patterns, and you really can’t be wrong with any of them if you are happy with what you are doing. You might never be really great, but at least you will know that you are going to be consistent in your shot. That’s all golf really is, the most consistent way to repeat an action as closely as possible each time that will return the club face to a square impact position. Let us move in a new direction though if you are seeking the holy grail of a more perfect left to right shot with a tighter pattern. "The One Plane Cut"

I'm afraid I have to agree with the negative responses thus far. This was a poorly written book, with many misspelled words, poor grammar and in many cases, difficult to follow the authors instructions. I love to read books about Ben Hogan, the reason for this purchase,so it will go into my library. However, you would think that someone that undertakes this type of project would, at the very least, have someone read the book, not only for typo errors, etc. but also for content. It was difficult to understand what Mr. Burleson was trying to put across in his instructions in many instances. I think, V.J. Trolio, in his book ' The Final Missing Piece of Ben Hogan's Secret Puzzle explained more clearly exactly what Mr. Burleson was trying to explain. And there is even a U-tube video for further clarification. Sorry, but this is a one star.

As a teaching professional with a playing past there can never be enough discussion concerning how to hit a golf ball in general and especially Ben Hogan's outstanding technique. It's still top of the great game. Blake Burleson`s book is thin almost too thin sometimes. I like that. That leaves a little to the imagination. He knows what he is talking about."The Hogan fall" will be talked about around the world. Read on....

of Ben Hogan taken from still frames of home made 8 mm film. It should tell you a great deal when one of the book reviews, a five star rating of course, is from the author's wife! Don't waste your time and money buying this highly disappointing reiteration of Hogan's Five Fundamentals Book.

I read this book on an airplane on the way to a Golf Trip to California in the Fall, and by the end of the Trip I was shooting Pars and Birdies. The book gave me some positive swing thoughts that helped me to drive and hit the ball further, straighter, and more consistant than I ever had! The Author Blake Burleson does a wonderful job explaining the Nature of Ben Hogan's Fundamental Swing Theory with a new fresh perspective while at the same time staying true and reinforcing Mr. Hogan's Fundamentals. Included are such topics as not discussed in any other Hogan Book such as Toe-digging the Club (and how to prevent it), Keeping the Swing Flat and Clubface Square and How to Hit the Cut Shot Fade. As with any book on Ben Hogan's swing, this book is intended to be a supplement to Power Golf and Five Fundaments, to allow you to see a Professional's view on how Mr. Hogan's actual Swing Techniques can be implemented and executed, in a VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND METHOD. Blake did a wonderful job in keeping the Book short and to the point, and offers yet another piece to the complex Hogan Puzzle.

Great book. Very insightful. At first it reads as brief and shallow. The author addresses this. However, the content is so dense that to expand the text to its full extent would result in many volumes. There are many gems pertaining to Hogan's swing. Blake's personal story is worth the purchase on it own behalf. He has made a significant contribution to golf in this book as well as his participation with the Secret in the Dirt website. I wish I could take a lesson with him. I can hardly wait for his next book in whatever form it takes. Well done Blake!

I don't know where to begin with my disappointment in this book. The editing is little more than spell check as far as I can see. There are numerous sentences that made no sense on the 1st, 2nd or any subsequent read. After only 38 pages the author uses a chapter to sell a training aid made by his friend in the industry. He then uses the remaining 15 or so pages to quote his own words from the previous 38 pages in bold and italics! The chaptering is ridiculous. The chapter on golf clubs is nearly last but begins with "First you must understand the golf club...." Shouldn't that be page 1 or even in the introduction? The author refers to Hogan's clubs as the true secret of his game, so exactly what does that do for the reader? Oh, how about the suggestion to have the reader's clubs flattened 6 degrees as a starting point? As for the actual lessons, I couldn't find any. I have read countless golf instructional books and this is by far the worst. I don't know how anyone could gleam anything from this other than the benefit of hitting a cut shot. This book could have been entitled "My Book Report on Hogan's Five Fundamentals" and been slightly more impressive. Charging $20 for this book makes me believe that Mr. Burleson is a charlatan.

I THINK I HAVE READ EVERY BOOK ON HOGAN AND WATCHED EVERY DVD AND YOU TUBE ON THE GREAT MAN.THIS LITTLE BOOK IS THE MOST PRACTICAL METHOD I HAVE FOUND.IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS WHICH IS TO SAFELY TAKE THE LEFT SIDE OF THE GOLF COURSE OUT OF THE GAME WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HOGAN STATED WAS HIS GOAL.IT IS EASY TO READ AND APPLY THE TECHNIQUE.HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED!!

The One Plane Cut Swing: Hogan's Secret Angle

Blake Burleson exposes in simple terms Hogan's Secret Move. This is Golfing Gold! Blake is a talented observer of Mr. Hogan's technique that has not been improved upon in our current technologically advanced day. I plan on recommending the book on my website [...]
