Greg Cummings is an award-winning wildlife conservationist who achieved remarkable success protecting gorilla populations in the wild through community-based initiatives in East and Central Africa. Since 2009 he has been a director of WildLIGHT, a registered charity in Uganda where he lives. It was OK for a first time book, but the author fell into the trap of trying to cover a million things all at once, so he was a bit long winded at 300+ pages. He reckoned he was going to write a LITTLE pot boiler. Well, hello Greg, IMHO, potboilers top at at around 200 pages. You could have saved a lot of that interesting stuff for the next EDerek Strangely book.

Well, I must say at the outset I was forced to return "Gorillaland" because it didn't suit my particular E-reader, so no thanks to Amazon for not making that clear, but thanks for giving me a refund anyway (I eventually got an epub version elsewhere, and was able to read the book in full). I bought this book for a friend named Greg Cummings. He thought it was great and it now has a prominent place on his bookshelf of things.

I very much enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to others. If you're interested in a very interesting read on the complex realities of East Africa these days, then this one's for you.

Kept me interested......I enjoyed it a lot and your description of the African jungle was inspiring. I could see Africa through your eyes. Thank you for a good read.

A compelling read . The story is fast paced with new twists and turns keeping your imagination on a continual high. Cummings seems to have a real grasp on the settings and characters in Africa probably due to his years of living there. This book wraps itself around characters who seem like something out of the mystery and ferocity that envelopes Africa and the abuses of some groups. Hopefully there will be a movie come out of this book or that it will be one of an exciting series.
