Melvyn Douglas as the father is an even harsher SOB than I remembered.

I have known grown men who wept when the father who never kissed them or encouraged them - died. Far better in this cold and chaotic world to do what you can to make your own small corner a little warmer. Maybe this should only be a three. And maybe you'll find this a little sentimental. Melvyn Douglas as the father is an even harsher SOB than I remembered. The unsophisticated production values and slightly sappy music are noticeable, but do not detract from the emotional impact, at least for me.

Maveri
Very good read.

Shakagul
I did not realize it was in "play" form. It so small I've stuck it somewhere in my book shelf, not found again until I do some clean out.

Llallayue
This play has a couple of strong dramatic monologues for men. It also allows for just the right balance of intellect and emotion. Mr. Anderson builds his storyline expertly and takes readers on a wonderful ride in the process.

Xanzay
A little dark, but moving

Keel
It was written in heavily, wouldn't have minded if it was in pencil but it was in ink and many sentences were crossed out

Vuzahn
I don't often read plays, preferring to see them, but this one is special. It's beautifully written and many men will recognize the anguish of this father-son relationship. It should be better known than it is.

Kajishakar
Strong book analyzing the challenges in Father/Son relationships.

I saw a production in college. It moved me. I did a solo reading of the final scene for a speech competition and it was powerful. Well written and a power house for your actors.
