This book is competently written but my dislike for the main hero grew as I read. I kept thinking that he would get a set down sooner or later. But no, every time I think Georgina is going to let him have it for being an enormous jerk, they just have sex.

He degrades her, calls her names, and doesn’t care for her feelings. He’ll boldly tell their intimate stories to anyone who would listen just to get a reaction from them and doesn’t care that it mortifies her.

There’s no actual development of love. At 90% of the way through the book, they still only lust after the other one minute and argue the next. There’s more to love than just sex, you know.

And all the other Malory women just accept it. Oh, that’s just how they are. They all have short tempers and they all are scoundrels, but what can you do? Um, I wouldn’t marry them to begin with!

This last bit of grumbling on my part will stray into SPOILER TERRITORY:
Even after James is forced to marry Georgina, all the while making it clear to her that he doesn’t want to, she still helps him escape getting hanged. How does he repay her? By kidnapping her, throwing her brothers aside and hauling her off to a country she she hates.

Um, imagine that you were stolen away from your family after being forced to marry a guy who doesn’t love you and being hauled across the world. That sounds like a great start to a marriage doesn’t it? Not to me.

I’m going to cut my rant short here. All in all, hated the main hero and was not a fan of the other Malorys either.

How delightfully wonderful! By far, it's one of the most fun and romantic books I've read by Johanna Lindsey. You will fall in love with James and Georgina as they literally take to the high seas. What I loved the most was the obvious fun Lindsey had when she wrote the book. When you can feel the passion a writer has for their own stories then you know you are reading a great book.

If you like the Malory brothers then I dare say James will become your favorite. His character was developed and stayed true to his introduction in the first two books. This time we get to see his character in full and watch as the delightful Georgie comes in contact with him. Her storyline with her brothers was refreshing and I'm so glad Lindsey incorporated them. When they meet James for the first time, I had to read it over again simply to be sure I didn't miss anything. It was that good.

Absolutely recommendable!!! Wouldn't this be a fun movie? There's one part at the end with screams something you would see from A Princess Bride.

I picked up this book from a pile of books that were given to me by a deceased relative when I was about 11. Yeah I know a little too young to be reading this book in particular at that age, but I had always loved reading romance novels so she bequeathed me all of her collection (which was HUGE) when she passed. I will be forever grateful to her for doing so. I never had so much enjoyment from reading a book. So much so in fact that I have purchased this book multiple times since the first time I read the book. First copy of it sadly got destroyed when I loaned it out. It took me YEARS to remember the author's name (this was before google... so yeah that tells you how long it was ago). When I finally did, I quickly snatched another copy of the book. Unfortunately between that time and now, I've moved around a lot so I lost them and purchased additional copies. I couldn't count the number I've bought. That's how much I adore this book.

The characters are delightful, the story line is engaging enough to keep you entertained and literally laughing out loud in some parts, all in all the best book I've ever read - and I've read a lot. Since I've gotten older, I can fully appreciate the "juicy" bits to it as well. Very well done but not overly so to be distracting or all out porn. I thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle.

Since this book, I've purchased and read dozens of Ms. Lindsey's works. You really can never go wrong with this author. She draws you in and makes you fall in love with the characters, the scenes, the entire books. Superb writing skills.

Took me a while to warm up to Georgie. Head strong and pigheaded even more than Reggie and Roselynn. By the time the ship docked I was on her side and the rest was pure fun and all macho Malory. They are such gluttons for punishment, in more ways then one in James case. Of course the brothers Anderson are a close second. Always enjoy when whole clan together. Looking forward to the "youngsters" stories.
