Ahead of her, people were singing Silent Night. As she got closer, though, she realized that they weren’t actually carolers, just a crowd around a street violinist who was playing Christmas tunes. Holy infant, so tender and mild. He wished he was there now, not in New York, and that they were getting ready to trim the Christmas tree in their own living room, and everything was the way it had been.

So far he hadn’t seen the right one.

Mary Higgins Clark'S Christmas gift for listeners of all seasons.

From America's most beloved writer of suspense comes a very special story about the power of love, and of a child's courage and faith.

When her husband is diagnosed with leukemia, Catherine Dornan and their two young sons accompany him to New York, during the Christmas season, for a life-saving operation. Hoping to divert them from worry about their father, Catherine takes the boys to see some of the city's Christmas Eve sights. When they stop to listen to a street musician, Brian, the younger boy, sees a woman find his mother's wallet, which also holds a precious family memento he believes will save his father's life. Unable to get his mother's attention, Brian follows the woman into the city's subways -- beginning a journey that will threaten his life and change that of his mother and of the woman as well.

Written with warmth, yet set against a background of menace and thrilling suspense, Silent Night sings with the spirit of the season, celebrating the mysteries of faith renewed and faith rewarded that we honor every holiday season.

The Sphinx of Driz
The book is pretty suspenseful. I just don’t like how the author makes the female character so helpless and dumb. Mary Higgins Clark seems to do this with a lot of her books. The books are from a female point of view and they seem helpless until a man comes and saves them that they had no idea was deeply in love with them. I used to love Mary Higgins Clark’s books. Idk what happened.

Book arrived in about a week, maybe less. So arrival time was great... I did not have to wait long. Some light wear along top and bottom edges of outside cover. Not horrible though. Inside front and back covers look yellowed as if the book had been sitting around for a number of years. Pages do not look fresh either. Binding looks great though. Overall, I am still happy to have this book since I could not find it online in Mass Market Paperback anywhere else... and I can't wait to start reading it. Happy that I get to add this book to my growing and huge collection of Mary Higgins Clark books !

In this short novel the magic of Christmas, the power of faith and the comfort of solidarity are the real protagonists.... thank you, Mrs Higgins Clark for giving us a moment of real magic atmosphere in which miracles are possible, prayers are answered and people care for other people... thank you for making us weeping and smiling at the same time and for making us see the world of adults and faith through the eyes of children...

It's been quite some time since I'd read a book by Mary Higgins Clark and when I came across this ebook I decided to buy it and I'm glad I did.

I read it in one sitting as I found it hard to put down. The story moved along at a great pace. The characters and plot were believable.

Definitely recommend this book.

Short read, entertaining & suspense. This family is out looking at the big Christmas tree. Mom is trying to fill some happiness into her boys, their father is in the hospital. This is when a person with a back ground stands up against her fears. It's hard to write a review & not give too much away. And I love Mary Higgins Clark.

The reader did not have to guess who the villain was this time - just how a seven year old boy would escape from his clutches. I enjoyed this change.

Arrived in good shape and story excellent.

Was really an inferior plot compared to all her others. Was disappointed.
