Anna Jacobs is really a great writer of historical fiction and this series is no exception. I tried one of her books and have now read several. There are already many good reviews here, however, I have noticed Amazon seems to be challenged when it comes to listing and identifying books in a series.

This series consists of:

Salem Street - book 1 Salem Street (Gibson Family Saga 1)

High Street - book 2 - High Street (Salem Street)

Ridge Hill - book 3 - Ridge Hill (Gibson Family Saga 3)

Hallam Square - book 4 - Hallam Square

Spinners Lake - book 5 - Spinners Lake (Gibson Family Saga 5)

I had read "Salem Street" by this author and wanted to read more about Annie Gibson's life and trials. It is set in the 1840's in England and describes life as it was then. I look forward to getting the next book in the series by Anna Jacobs.

As always with Anna Jacobs books they are so well researched and beautifully written. The Gibson Family Saga was superb. Anna’s characters are not only loveable but very believable and realistic. She weaves wonderful stories and this series is no exception. I have read the whole series twice and am certain that I will revisit it again and again.

Annie is the woman the many of us would aspire to be if we had the courage. Sometimes it takes a tragedy to bring out the person we were longing to be. She has a deep love of family and friends and brings them on her journey.

Would recommend this series to all. Great read.

Annie ( could she be an ancestor of the author?) is resourceful, intelligent, full of common sense and courage. She faces many difficult situations living in Bilsden, a rough factory town, but is ever the survivor and most stable member of her family and neighborhood. She works long, hard hours to better herself and shows the reader how a resourceful young lady can rise above extremely difficult circumstances. I highly recommend this book, and can't wait to read the next one in the 5-part saga.

My dad read the 1st of this series in a reader's digest and then ordered the rest of the books from amazon. He is enjoying these books and recommends them to anyone.
