Llike most of her books, Mary Higgins Clark, wrirtes a good suspense novel. Many years ago while visiting the mansion where her father worked Kay Lansing overhears someone saying "I Heard That Song Before. I don't know how she thinks up the plots. It sticks with her through the years and she remembers as she visits the same estate to get permission to hold a fund raiser there. She quickly falls in love with Peter, a man of suspision in the death of his pregnant wife.

I Heard That Song Before book. I Heard that Song Before is again another recommendable book written by Mary Higgins Clark. Mary Higgins Clark is a gifted writer and this current novel was exceptionally great: Kay Lansing, the girl next door, falls in love with a handsome young millionaire who happens to live in a secluded and extravagant mansion, tied to some mysterious death incidents. This lovely romance is interrupted when new evidence against her newlywed brings to his arrest.

Mary Higgins Clark takes you deep into the mysteries of the human mindŠwhere memories may be the most dangerous things of all. Kay Lansing grew up in Englewood, New Jersey, daughter of the landscaper to the wealthy and powerful Carrington family. One day, accompanying her father to work, six-year-old Kay overhears a quarrel between a man and a woman that ends with the man's caustic response: "I heard that song before." That same evening, young Peter Carrington drives the nineteen-year-old daughter of neighbors home from a formal dinner dance at the Carrington estate, but she is not in her room the next morning and is never seen or heard from again. Decades later, a cloud of suspicion hangs over Peter, not only for his neighbor's disappearance but also for the subsequent drowning death of his own pregnant wife in their swimming pool. But when Kay Lansing, now a librarian in Englewood, asks Peter's permission to hold a literary benefit cocktail party on his estate, she comes to see Peter as misunderstoodŠand when he begins to court her, she falls in love -- and marries him. However, she soon makes a discovery that leads her to question her husband's innocence. She believes that the key to the truth lies in the identities of the man and woman whose quarrel she witnessed as a child. What she does not realize is that uncovering what lies behind these memories may cost Kay her life.

Llike most of her books, Mary Higgins Clark, wrirtes a good suspense novel. I don't know how she thinks up the plots. Some are very complicarted
as was this one was. I stayed up very late one nigiht finishing it since I knew I woiuld never sleep without knowing the end. I enjoyed it very much as I am sure most peple who are lovers of cliff hangers will. It's also nice to know that you are not goiing to be reading 4 letter words or
explicate sex in her books. Books can be good wirthout all that.

Kept the reader guessing who the killer was. A plot switch is that the main character marries the accused killer of three and he is exonerated. As usual, the heroine is in dire peril at the end, but gets rescued in the nick of time.

I had a hard time keeping track of all the people and events in the beginning. The first of the book was way too slow but the end was great.

Many years ago while visiting the mansion where her father worked Kay Lansing overhears someone saying "I Heard That Song Before." It sticks with her through the years and she remembers as she visits the same estate to get permission to hold a fund raiser there. She quickly falls in love with Peter, a man of suspision in the death of his pregnant wife. They marry and it quickly becomes apparant that her husband is a sleepwalker. That fact causes her to have doubts and questions of her own surrounding the death. Did he do it? Or not! Another mystery!

adventure time
Kay Lansing wants to know who she heard when she was a child in a chapel, and if her husband is involved.

This book, the latest from Mary Higgins Clark, is a thrilling story. Clark continues her reign as the queen of mystery, although this isn't my favorite of her books. Her characters are well developed and the plot flows nicely.

My own complaint is with the new use of first person- Clark began using it in her last novel, and to me it detracts from the otherwise great story.

okay

It is a good story with lots of plots. It makes a great read. I have read one other book.

The book was a fast read, the only thing I didn't care for is the author takes such time in building the characters and story line then when it comes to an end it almost seems anti-climatic. I have found that in most of her books. Still it was good and kept me interested.
