I used this book in my class. It is stupendous, and it generated consistently strong conversations among students. The selection of documents consistently illuminate key events in Mexican American History from a variety of important perspectives. I deeply appreciate the heavy presence of Texas-based accounts. However, the price, for a document reader, is outrageous. Most students struggle to cover their tuition, and the price is a little steep.
