Still In Mind
Interesting book about the life in Russia before the author immigrated to the United States in 1978. Very different from the western way of growing up. At times it is heartbreaking to read about the ways people were treated. The opposite is also well described in a comical way. The translation from Russian to English is at times different and unusual. I read the book because it is recommended as a good example of writing memoirs. Was worth reading it.

Kamuro
Funny, heartbreaking, human

Xangeo
As advertised

Mr Freeman
Good writer, good book design, would make a good gift for someone who likes a conversational style in novels.

Iriar
At the end of the book, the parallel with Aksakov's Family Chronicle become explicit, and this made the book more valuable to me.
