As she lit the candle beside the bed, the room seemed to grow smaller. It grated on her that what little freedom she had was only at Ráfaga’s sufferance mirror and turned. Staring at the flame-colored skirt and the embroidered blouse she wore, Sheila remembered the way she had rejoiced at receiving them and now felt sickened by them. Ráfaga had given them to her. Suddenly she couldn’t bear the feel of the material against her skin. She stripped off the clothes and grabbed the blanket she had discarded earlier.

I love all her books and this one is a favorite. There's just so much about it that it's hard to pick one peticular
area. He was definitely attracted to her from the beginning. Probably due to her light coloring but between
them love grows quickly. It's a keeper

I have always revered Janet Daly style of writing . I felt like I traveled the places with her so elaborate was her writing describing the different States . I wish she had a chance to write a sequel to this book before her demise. Then I would have experienced Mexico as well.

I first read this in high school. That was 30 yrs ago. I loved it then and now. It's one of those keeper books that don't go out of style . It's a shame Dailey passed away and didn't extend the story. But still she was a great author .

Have read this book three or four times over the years. Predictable romance but a really good story. Still one of my favorites

Very exciting book. A little different from her previous books but very enjoyable.

I read this book when I was high school 30 years ago. It was one of my favorite romances at the time. I decided to reread it and I enjoyed it but it is just a romance book.
