"Undone" is an anthology containing three historical romance novellas with settings ranging from the elegant halls of London to the rugged castles of Scotland. While I loved the stories by Terri Brisbin and Mary Wine, I didn't like the one from Susan Johnson. Although these may be labeled as erotic, I'd say they were more spicy than anything else. Most of the love scenes were short and not anything I hadn't read before. Still, the last two stories were quick and entertaining with well developed characters, especially for their short length. I'm very much looking forward to reading more from Ms. Wine, as I thought her story was truly delightful!

AS YOU WISH by Susan Johnson - 2 STARS**
(From the back cover) Felicity Belvoir is a charmer indeed - and still a virgin. But not for long. the dashing earl of Albion has vowed to be her first lover... and he is known throughout London as the gold standard in female pleasure...

I didn't really care for this story at all! When you're looking forward to 120 or so pages to hurry up and end, you know there's a problem. It takes place in 1785 London, but had no sense of time or place. I realize this is fiction, but some events should coincide with the history. Everything from the way they spoke to to the events and happenings were so unbelievable and amateurish that I just couldn't enjoy it. Albion was a total jerk, and Felicity was blunt to the point of annoyance. You'd have to read it to see what I mean, otherwise I'd give the whole story away, short as it is. I honestly don't know if I'll be reading anything by Ms. Johnson again!

A STORM OF LOVE by Terri Brisbin - 4 STARS****
(From the back cover) The wild lands of Argyll hold no promise for a woman cast away - until a younger lover draws Agnes of Mull into his strong embrace. Beac's tender touch erases all sorrow... and his compelling sensuality brings her to ecstasy...

This was actually the very first story I'd ever read by Ms. Brisbin and I believe is book 1.5 in her 'Storm' series. Out of all three stories in the anthology this was the most emotional for me. It takes place in 1083 Scotland, and contains an older heroine. Both Aigneis (pronounced Agnes) and Breac were sad and lonely beings. After Breac saves Aigneis from certain death, he takes her home to care for his ill sister. They both suffer with guilt and their feelings for each other, but were kind and lovable souls. This had a slightly mystical aspect and references to the 'Sith' which I can't remember another romance having dealt with before. Still a very good and memorable tale!

STEALING THE BRIDE by Mary Wine - 5 STARS*****
(From the back cover) Brawny, and brave, Hayden Monroe is a laird in need of a wife and the beautiful Elspeth Leask shall be his. But he must bed her to wed her - and fully satisfy her deepest desires...

This one was my favorite of the bunch! It takes place in 1554 Scotland and had wonderful, endearing characters! Elspeth was smart, funny, and brave. She was strong and plain spoken, without being irritating. Hayden was fabulous and they made an absolutely perfect couple. All the other characters were fantastic too and I simply loved everything about this book. It had a lot going on and the sense of connection and passion between the couple was beautifully written and above all else, believable! I would really love to read more about everyone in this story, but from what I can tell it's a standalone novella. Just a truly fun and engaging romance!

Get in line historical romance lovers! UNDONE, an anthology by Susan Johnson, Terri Brisbin, and Mary Wine will make a welcome addition to any keeper shelf!

AS YOU WISH by Susan Johnson

Virgin Felicity Belvoir is well thought of and is able to make even the hardest of heart like her. Men find her irresistible but are too much aware of her to take her virginity. It's a good thing the Earl of Albion isn't as reserved - he plans to take her virginity. And if rumors are true, Felicity is looking forward to every single risqué moment.

Felicity is a lovely woman. She has style and grace. Her peers love her - she is everything the jaded Earl of Albion needs, even if he is too stubborn to see what is in front of his face. I adore when the intentions of the hero doesn't happen as he planned!

A STORM OF LOVE by Terri Brisbin

Breac is on his way home after searching for a healer to give him herbs to help his dying sister. As he rests for the night, he is awakened by two men throwing a bundle off of a horse. The bundle moves, and Breac is surprised to see a trussed up and very much naked woman inside. Realizing the men mean to kill her, Breac stops them by promising to make her his slave.

Terri Brisbin pleasantly surprised me with A STORM OF LOVE. With drama, flair, and sensuous love scenes, I was unable to do anything other than fall in love with this spirited story. Ms. Brisbin's characters were enchanting!

STEALING THE BRIDE by Mary Wine

Hayden Monroe needs a wife in the worst way. As laird of his clan, Hayden knows his responsibilities. And finding a wife is a priority. Hayden finds the woman he desires in Elspeth Leask. She is a beauty, and Hayden is looking forward to bedding and then wedding this lovely lady.

I am certain that no one other than Mary Wine can tell a Scottish romance with such enticing words. STEALING THE BRIDE has just the right combination of sensuality and sexuality needed to bring Hayden and Elspeth alive.

UNDONE is a great anthology by three extremely talented authors. There is simply no way I could pick a favorite so I am not going to even try. Just know that each story will grab you and keep you warm and toasty as you read. Or, like me, it might make you sweat and shiver with anticipation!
