Fame and Love in New York. com User, September 6, 2002. I first read this book while down with the flu, and it cured me. I felt so happy reading it that I got well. It's the story of a SOHO artistic uprising that is as disgusting as it later became - the book is prophetic. Why it's not in print is just one of those irritating things - no wave of could ever be swept by such an intelligent funny book.

Sanders's Sharon Tate offers new insights into what happened on the night of her death and explores new motives for the targeting of the Polanski household. Illustrated with Rick Veitch's evocative images, Sharon Tate is required reading for anyone fascinated by the dark side of the '60s.

I was introduced to Fame & Love in New York back in 1981 and found it to be a break from a lot of the "standard" reading material of the day. Thirty years latter is still stands as a monument the the great things that were, and could have been accomplished if the world had been allowed to follow a different path. The sections on "Bardastics" speak to the wandering professor in all of us!
