For me, Only His was the funniest book in the Fool's Gold series so far. A lot of it was Nevada and Tucker, but it was also because of a certain sculptor entering into her "feminine period. Some of the things that happened to Nevada or that she stumbled upon were just so unfortunate that I couldn't help but laugh. This item: Only His (Fool's Gold, Book 6). Set up a giveaway.

ONLY HIS is the sixth book in the Fools Gold series and I can't believe I waited so long to read this collection of funny and romantic stories. There are forty three books in this series and I'm hoping to get a huge batch of them read this year. ONLY HIS is also the third book in the Fools Gold Romance trilogy that covers the love story of the three Hendrix sisters who also happen to be triplets. ONLY HIS is Nevada's story. Nevada is oh so lovable that you can't help but che Only His. Susan Mallery

Wedding bells are ringing in Fool’s Gold, but not for Nevada Hendrix. Her triplet sisters are engaged, and even her mother has a more active love life than she does. Determined to make a fresh start, she applies for her dream job, only to discover that her new boss is her first love. Maybe she could overlook the fact that they’ve seen each other naked, but she’ll never forget the way he broke her heart. Tucker Janack agrees to Nevada’s “business only” ground rules. After all, love is a trap that the construction millionaire has avoided his whole life. But when great business partners turn out to be so much more, every rule gets broken. Will either of them be willing to try again...or will their past get in the way? “Warm, funny and sexy...a satisfying, rewarding read.” —Library Journal on Chasing Perfect
I read "Almost Perfect" years ago, enjoyed it and decided to continue with the Fool's Gold series. The books have been ok, but a bit tedious in their predictability, and this installment is no exception and the last one I will be reading. The characters go through a cycle of rehashing their feelings/issues, deciding they will/will not do something, going against the decision and then rehashing their feeling ad nausem without seeming to grow. They justify their feelings and keep talking about not changing their ways/views/etc then suddenly they see the "light of love" and now their world view is different. It makes the books seem longer than they need to be and uninspired because you sit through hours of them going over and over their issue(s) until they realize they're in love without SEEING the progression in they're thinking. I know that it does work like that for some people, but besides "Almost Perfect" one or both of the characters are stuck in this emotional rut they don't leave until the end of the book, which makes the book a job instead of a joy.

However, what tipped me into giving up on the series entirely was I found the male protagonist, Finn Anderson, to be too unrepentantly mean and judgmental. It was bad enough that he was so quick to anger and disinclined to listen to anyone's opinion, but being so quick to judge and mean about it was just too much for me. I dislike snap judgements so he was hard for me to like.

It is a good story in general, but I was getting tired of the cookie cutter nature of the character's development in this series before I was presented with a male lead I just could not like so I won't be reading anymore, but for those looking for a romance with and good story, it may be worth a try.

I am still a bit shocked at how bad this book was. I picked it up because I had loved the Fools Gold series and am wondering if this really is the same author. The characters were not believable and there was nothing much to like about any of them. Terrible people doing terrible things to each other might have been a better title. Can't believe I actually spent time and money on that. It is very likely that I will not be buying anymore books from this author.

I drive 50 miles round trip to and from work and Susan Mallery has become my new favorite! I love the way that she creates sequels around this town, Fools Gold. This book was more of her same formula and I haven't gotten tired of it yet. This is your typical re-connection love story and I love how there is always a happy ending in all of her books. The story is basically one about a younger girl who fell in love with one of her older brother's friends who broke her heart in the past. With the guy being kind of clueless about her love for him. He comes back as a successful Contractor for a Casino being built in their little resort-ish town and she hires on working under him. I am always a little caught off guard by the sex. It's pretty explicit. Let's just say I'd never want my to leave my audio book playing while someone else was in the car at certain places in the book! But I still love the way that the author builds the story and by the time the girl has the guy or the guy gets the girl, I want a sequel about more of their story! I love that she mentions some of the characters from other stories in the new ones, and I GET how when a story is done, it is done. But I'd love if she would continue some of the stories and make a sequel about the exact same characters continuing their story. I am hooked. And this was one of the better ones! I'd recommend it!

I have read all Fools Gold and managed to read this whole book in one day. I liked the story about Dante & Evie but found myself a little bored because it followed the same formula as the other fools gold books, in almost every aspect right to the ending. I don't think it was worth the $9.99 I paid, but still will keep reading this series.

Since there are so many reviews already that tells the story I will say that I did like Dante & Evie. I found them to be a great couple, both hurt by love and family issues from the past. I like that they clicked right away, I wish there would have been some hotter love scenes, I would rate the few PG-13 maybe. The bulk of the book is about Evie teaching dance and trying to figure out the Christmas Eve dance production. Dante and her fall into a couple routine all while telling each other they are just friends helping each other through the holidays. The whole town comes together to help Evie get ready for the Christmas Eve show, it was great seeing ALL the previous book characters and catching up with their marriages & families. Over the month of December Evie realizes she is falling in love with Dante. Dante remembers he never wants to be in love and pushes Evie away which breaks Evie's heart. And like all the previous books all the women in town showed up on Evie's doorstep to help get over her broken heart. I think Susan Mallery cut, copy, and pasted that scene from the previous books. Than the books ended with the big Christmas Eve production and of course the drama of how we get to the happy ending.

All and all it was a cute story that I enjoyed reading, I like the characters, the town and of course the happy ending but I just didn't LOVE it. I do look forward to reading Gideon story soon and continuing the series.
