"Deep Cover" is one of my all-time favorite movie and I bought this book because some of the poetry recited in that movie is in it.

I haven't seen this book in years. I added it to my library.

This is Donald Goines as his best. The people are real, the situations gritty, just enough language to be believeable, and the action is rough. As always, when Donald was at his best, this book screams 'street' and the fact that the author knew everything there was to know about the life. Fast-moving, this is one you won't put down until the very end - and the end is a sudden shocker.
