This story is very well written, and deals with hard-learned lessons from her own family. As a birthmother from a failed marriage, I felt the authenticity on each page. The book is realistic and moving. The lack of "easy answers," emotions, and struggles of faith touched my heart. Don't pass up the opportunity to read and love this story. It is beautifully presented as a gift of love to us readers.

The topic of abortion-versus-adoption provides the main thread of this story, which follows the emotions and thoughts of a pregnant eighteen-year-old named Kirsten as she considers her options. In the meantime, her aunt Keira has discovered that her mother became pregnant outside of marriage and she tries to discover who her real father was; this provides an interesting counterpart to Kirsten's situation, but it could have been developed much more fully. In addition, the resolution is simplistic and rather abrupt. If the characters had been fleshed out and Kirsten's boyfriend allowed to participate in her decision, this could have been a more enjoyable book. I'd recommend it, though, to someone considering an abortion.

My book club read and discussed this book last month. It was a quick read. The main theme centered on secrets shared within a family. This was a good discussion starter for our group...which led to an evening of shared stories by members of the book club. The author did a satisfactory job of creating the story, but it seemed to come to an abrupt ending...! (I felt like the author was trying to meet a deadline and quickly brought it to a close before getting the rough draft sent off!)

A heartwarming story with well-developed characters. I will definitely look for more from this author! NOTE: I only give 5 stars to the classics.

I have read a good many of Lauraine Snelling books. They are all very good/ entertaining without a lot of sexy interludes. They have good moral ways of life that are real life experiences that you can relate to. A good Christian writer that you are anxious to see what happens next.
