I absolutely love sara lee rosenburg's books.

Saralee Rosenberg has a quick, breezy humorous style of writing that is almost chic lit (it doesn't have a girl loses boy, girl gets even better boy plot line) but just as much fun to read. South Jersey is not as Prada-loving as Long Island, but there are enough similarities that I could defintely relate to the keeping up with the neighbors mentality.

Dear Neighbor, Drop Dead is a hilarious, heart stopping romp over fences and defenses that asks what did you do to deserve living next door to a crazy woman? Sometimes it’s worth finding out. Praise. There’s enough suburban-mom anxiety in Rosenberg’s crackling fourth novel to fuel several ulcers: worrisome in-laws, spoiled-brat kids, a husband with a shrinking income, a new found stepson and a gorgeous neighbor whose nastiness knows no bounds.

In "Dear Neighbor, Drop Dead" we meet Mindy Sherman and her next-door neighbor, Beth Diamond. Whether you have a 'crazy' neighbor or simply love to read thoroughly enjoyable books, you'll find this one, Saralee's best, is a perfect read. It's funny and real, and like her other three books, not just for 'chicks'. Dear Neighbor, Drop Dead Mentions in Our Blog Good Neighbor. Published by Beth Clark, September 28, 2018.

In Mindy's yoga-obsessed, thirty-is-the-new-wife neighborhood, every day is a battle between Dunkin' Donuts, her jaws-of-life jeans, and Beth Diamond, the self-absorbed sancti-mommy next door who looks sixteen from the back. So much for sharing the chores, the stores, and the occasional mischief to rival Wisteria Lane.

It's another day, another dilemma until Beth's marriage becomes fodder on Facebook. Suddenly the Ivy League blonde needs to be “friended,” and Mindy is the last mom standing. Together they take on hormones and hunger, family feuds and fidelity, and a harrowing journey that spills the truth about an unplanned pregnancy and a seventy-year-old miracle that altered their fates forever.

We all have funny friends who tell great stories. Friends to whom we sometimes say things like, "you should write a book." I'm so glad author, Saralee Rosenberg, either heard this enough or believed in herself enough to share her humor with us. There's a laugh on every page of Dear Neighbor Drop Dead. From page one, I felt I had to fasten my seatbelt, as the quick pace and over-the-top characters just cracked me up. It was quite a ride through this Long Island neighborhood full of twists and turns and page-turning gusto.

Although primarily Mindy's story, this is the tale of Mindy and Beth. Beth is THE neighbor from hell, a first-class beyotch, who puts on the perfect routine and is so mean to everyone--particularly the big-hearted Mindy--she's easy to loathe. Mindy and Beth are thrown together through a variety of circumstances and their relationship as frenemies develops in unexpected and amusing ways. Every secondary character no matter how important or trivial to the story is beautifully developed and makes this quick read highly enjoyable.

Be prepared to experience the culture of modern Jewish families. You'll hunger for a New York bagel and smile at the expressions: "It's never the stuff you worry about that happens, it's the stuff you don't see coming that incapacitates you like a Taser. And nothing like five-thousand volts of electricity to get your undivided attention."

I had to agree with Mindy's stepson, Aaron, when he proclaims: "I like being Jewish. You guys really know how to party." To which Mindy, ever the wit, replies: "Next to suffering, it's what we do best."
Very well done. I look forward to reading Saralee Rosenberg's other books--including one mentioned in this story, Claire Voyant--particularly when I feel the need to smile.

It's been a while since I've read a book that has made me laugh out loud as much as Dear Neighbor, Drop Dead.

I even wrote to the author (who graciously responded) that I was positive that she had been on the same ship that I was when my parents took our entire family on a 4 day, 3 night cruise a few years ago. The similarities were spot on. Obviously, what happened on my 4 days in hell were pretty common when the parents are footing the bill.

Although I very much enjoyed the Jewish references, you don't have to be Jewish to enjoy this story - it could just as easily have been set in an upper class neighborhood in deep Texas with the same two types of neighbors.

I've ordered Saralee Rosenberg's other 3 books since my library didn't carry them (their loss). I definitely look forward to keeping her novels on my "read more than once" shelf.

You can read this book in a day or two - it's worth the time, even around the holidays.

I adored this book and immediately downloaded Ms. Rosenberg's other three. I've read "Fate and Mrs. Fortune" and couldn't put it down. I hate to get to the other two, because there are no others. I want to call her and tell her "More, more!" I feel as though I could be friends with this fine, insightful author.

I purchased this book because I was going to be travelling and the title/synopsis seemed cute.

I used to be an avid reader as a child/teenager and have difficulty finding books that I enjoy as an adult.

The book started out with an interesting unveiling of characters and what seemed to be a good storyline.

However, as the chapters played out, it felt as if new scenarios and characters were added solely to stretch the story out.

The book ending felt abrupt and didn't bring me a 'closure' feeling that I normally feel when I reach the "end" of a book.

I put it down several times and tried to allow myself to get into it and couldn't. It's not the best read I've ever had and I'd recommend borrowing this one; not buying.

Saralee Rosenberg has written four books. I have read three so far...since October and it isn't even December yet!!! I love each book equally and they are all so different. The characters are all different ages, and all different character types... there is the single over 30 year old comedian, the frumpy L.I. house mom, the sore thumb of her family- under 30 year old model. The only common ground for the characters is their Long island roots. The common ground for the books are the twists and turns that you can't predict, a laugh on every page and anticipation to run home throw on sweats and get sewpt away in thier stories every night. I get sad when I come to the end of the books.

Saralee I want more before I finish , "A little help from Above"!!!!

Mindy Sherman is a person we'd all like to call a friend. She's funny as hell, compassionate, kind and wise. Her story will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. Highly recommended!

Another good book that l so love . I will read all her books.Love the way she writes.Ylu ha e to read them and understand why.

I had high expectations for this book, and they were quickly extinguished. This story is a battle of the wills between Mindy, a nice normal person, and Beth, the pain in the you-know-what neighbor. These women are always at each other's throats until some major roadblocks in Beth's life force her to climb down from her high horse and rely on Mindy. The problem with this book is, I didn't think any of the characters were very likeable, and the book just was not very funny at all. At more than 300 pages, it was also way too long. Don't waste your time with this book...there are plenty of better ones out there.
