Dorothy Garlock is a Texas native living in Clear Lake, Iowa, who quit her job as a newspaper columnist and reporter at the age of 49 to write novels. She entered her first novel in a contest and lost, but she sold the book. So many of her more than 40 books are set in the Old West that Dorothy Garlock has come to be classified as a Western Romance writer. She is a member of the Romance Writers Hall of Fame. She has a way of telling each story and really makes the reader feel like she is back in time. I have already read this book but wanted to read it again as I do many of her books. Dorothy Garlock, Johanna Phillips, Dorothy Phillips, Dorothy Glenn. Wild Sweet Wilderness (1985). She was one of the six launch authors for Bantam Books' Loveswept Line. Two of Garlock's short stories, "Interlude in Big Bend" and "Beneath the Midnight Sun", were chosen by Universal Press Syndicate to launch their series Day Dreams. The two stories were published one chapter each day for one month, and ran in 57 major newspapers.

I can't say enough how much I enjoy every book Dorothy Garlock writes.

She has a way of telling each story and really makes the reader feel like she is back in time. I have already read this book but wanted to read it again as I do many of her books. I am looking forward to her next book, On Tall Pine Lake, can't wait.

If you like books with a little of everything, you will enjoy this book.

too much cursing, language was hard to understand so it takes longer than usual to read and get through. Content was fairly good. It showed how things were in that era and how far most of the human race has come. I take it it's fiction but reality based.

This book was a pleasant read, but not a fantastic, cant put the book down read. If you like Dorothy Garlocks style of writting you won't be disappointed. For the time peroid she writes in, she did a great job with the charaters.

I gave an extra star for the lovely written love scenes, always good from Garlock.

As for the rest of the book, I gave up after the first couple chapters and just skimmed through. I cannot stand bad English. To me it's just so unappealing and it made the heroine sound like an idiot. For the first third of the story, the two main characters don't even come in much contact with each other. It just dragged on and on. It's obvious this is an early book, because she writes a whole better than this.

Dorothy Garlock always goes above and beyond for her readers. I love all the Frontier series. Hope she keeps writing them.
