Awesome !!! I LOVED LOVED this book !! The writing of Barbara Whitnell made these charactor's in this book really come to life. This is one of the BEST book's I have ever read. Right up there with Jane Austin and Danielle Steele ~ I am a avid reader and this book was a JOY for me to read. A real page turner. I wholly recommend ~ A must read ~ it's so good ~ i just love reading this type of books. that's all i am going to say ~ i cannot give any more away, simply if you love to read, read this book and tell your reader friends 5 STARS

I finished "The Ring of Bells" and was sorry to see it end. I found the story to be a great mix of novel with a bit of history thrown in. It was first of all a story about family love and loyalty to home, friends, and community, depicting as well, how times can change in a heartbeat when your country is involved in war. It was interesting to read how the family at home is still greatly involved via loss of loved ones, and other hardships. The characters were well developed, editing was very good, and the story encompasses a fifty year time span.

I got bored and never did finish this book... I am sure others read the whole book and liked it.. as this is a reissue.. but alas, I am glad I received this as a free copy. and sad that I cannot provide a better review.

This book is about several generations of a family living, working, and loving thru two world wars. Loved this beautiful book full of warmth.

This book is for those who love family sagas intertwined with historical events. "Hear, hear! " to Jenny and Roger and to Barbara Whitnell who created these characters.

I loved this book. It was a wonderful story about love ,hope and family. It had everything a normal family in those years had plus more.

A story of love and family, their joys and sorrows from the 1800's to the beginning of World War 1. Terrific storyteller.
