I am about to finish my masters degree in mental health counseling and I bought this to help me study for my comprehensive examinations next month. This book takes several interesting cases from the DSM-IV Casebook and then gives a detailed breakdown of the case and a discussion by several different professionals in the field. I found it EXTREMELY helpful in looking at case diagnosis and case formulation and if I only had to choose one book to read before my comp exams this would be it. I highly recommend it and I personally believe this should be required reading for every mental health clinician.

Another good book for therapists and counselors.

Not at all what I thought it was going to be!

This book has good case examples that help you get more familiar with the DSM IV TR. The only regret I have is that I wish I also bought the book that is meant to go with it. Even on it's own, it tells complete case examples and ideas of how to treat the client so it works independently too.
