The Gulf of Saint Lawrence The correspondence detailed an escape plan in which the prisoners were to tunnel . Tennyson, Brian Douglas; Sarty, Roger F. (2000).
The Gulf of Saint Lawrence. From the start of the war in 1939 until VE Day, several of Canada's Atlantic coast ports became important to the resupply effort for the United Kingdom and later for the Allied land offensive on the Western Front. The correspondence detailed an escape plan in which the prisoners were to tunnel out of the camp and make their way (using currency and false documents provided for them) through eastern Ontario and across Quebec to the northeastern tip of New Brunswick off the Pointe de Maisonnette lighthouse where the escapees would be retrieved by a U-boat.

Made up largely of correspondence Springs maintained with his father.
This was one of the most interesting books that I have read in quite a while about a now largely obscure American First World War fighter ace, Elliot White Springs (1896-1959). Made up largely of correspondence Springs maintained with his father and stepmother, as well as excerpts from his flight log and diary, the book conveys an almost contemporaneous feel of Springs' wartime experiences in 1917 and 1918.

Letters from the front. Correspondence of Spouses: It’s difficult to write a good letter. As letters travel for about three weeks, one gets some strange impressions from them
Letters from the front. Again and again I reread your letters. From some letters I can see that you behave like a brick, but on others traces of your tears can be seen. You shouldn’t grieve, my darling. Remember that millions of people are suffering now, and you and I are far from being the most unhappy. As letters travel for about three weeks, one gets some strange impressions from them. I receive letters from you which were written when I was still in the rear, while it is a month already that we’ve been at the firing line.
