Google Plus, AKA, G+ is the google social network, as a photographer this is the first social network I have fallen in love with. The photography community on G+ is simply without anything like it.

But, I have questions, how do I organize images, what is the best file size, how do others make their images look so awesome, and how to best integrate G+ with my business. etc. etc.

This is where Colby Brown comes in, his new book is the answer book for photographers on G+. you may or may not already have figured a lot of this out, however, this book takes you from where-ever you are right now, to being a G+ PRO photo user..

Colby Brown separate the book into "how to" mixed with a bunch of great case studies, narratives with other top G+ photographers about how they use G+.
This is personal user experiences and great ideas which I simply never would happen on myself.

I can not strongly enough recommend this book, for anyone with any serious photography aspirations, whether amateur or professional.

Colby Brown has done an excellent job at putting together a thorough and well organized book to help other photographers better understand and get more use out of Google+.

Google+ is an awesome place for photographers to share their work with the world, see amazing work that other talented photographers are doing, and start or participate in live hangouts to share more with others who are as obsessed with photography as they are!

As Google+ is still relatively the new kid on the block, having a book like Google+ for Photographers is very helpful for photogs to quickly learn how they can get more out of this new platform.

Colby clearly covers the key things that most photographers will, or should, be concerned about. Copyright issues and TOS; photo presentation, editing and management; Hangouts, etc...

One thing that I thought was very fresh, innovative and helpful was the inclusion of short interviews of other (some, very well known) photographers and their perspective on Google+, and how they use it. How cool is that?

If I were to suggest anyway that the book could've been better... Hmmm, as I have very little time to read these days, I do love audio books. I don't know if that would be the best medium for this content, as it is focused on photography, but maybe worth considering? Just a thought.

Thanks again, Colby!

Another AMAZING photographer, humanitarian, all around nice guy has written a book that is WORTH its weight in GOLD (or whatever is worth a lot nowadays)...

Colby Brown spent the time to break down how to make Google+ a user friendly social network. Though it is geared towards photographers, it runs down the basics on how to use this tool (yes, social networking is a resourceful tool!!). Not only did he make the manual interesting and easy to use, his use of references and images make it MUST have for anyone who is into photography!! He features well known photographers and gave 4 people the chance to shine (he held a contest) and share not only why they love Google+ but their work as well! I can go on forever on the reasons to pick up a copy, but to make a long story short (too late) BUY it!!

Colby Brown has done a great job in writing not only a book for effective use of Google+ for photographers (more on that in a moment) but his book is also an excellent resource for effective use of Google+ by anyone. He takes you through a nice progression of the application, with nice tips and tricks along the way and then shows how useful it is for photographers for both connecting and sharing. He shows how he organizes his circles and why, along with how Google+ is linked to Picasaweb and how to take advantage of some of the Picasaweb functionality that is not yet present in Google+. All in all, a well written and well layed out book!

I look forward to the next edition of his book, as we all know the Google+ interface and functionality is constantly changing. I would also look forward to a deeper dive on the Picasaweb functionality and the Google+ capabilities.

This book is a very good introduction to Google+, in general. I've had a G+ account for a while but hadn't really explored all the features much. This book does a good job of walking you through the G+ features and explaining them. Since it's written from the perspective of a professional photographer there's a lot of emphasis on using G+ to get yourself (and your work) noticed, how to use G+ as a marketing and customer communications tool. This is not a bad thing and is applicable to anyone who has something they want the world to know about whether it be photographs or other art work, or ideas.

If you are interested in social media, Google+, photography and/or building an online presence, you should invest in Google+ for Photographers. If you are a photographer and you use social media to promote your work, you need to invest in this book. Not only does Colby Brown explain how you might best use Google+ as a networking tool, he also explains how to build a following and a dynamic online presence. Colby explains Google+ in depth, starting with nuts and bolts such as the differences between social and interest networks, then moves into the specifics of Google+ (aka G+) with respect to both photography and general interaction. As a bonus, while you read you're greeted by some of Colby's images as well as perspectives from and photos by other well-known photographers, all complimenting screen shots of the network. There's both useful information and amazing images. Bottom line: Google+ is a great way to network, build an online presence and become globally connected. Colby Brown does an excellent job of outlining the tools and tips you need to do it successfully.
