by Kristen H. ISBN-13: 978-0826106193. I recently began my own private practice serving older adults. This book was a wonderful tool for developing assessments, resources, and a screening "recipe book" for various types of mental health issues faced by the older adult population. The book contained many of the screening tools cited, and also an extensive list of resources to obtain additional information and materials that may be helpful in working with this population.

Innovations Across Care Settings.

Innovations Across Care Settings. Part II of this book highlights innovations in the use of CBT across health care settings such as primary care, cognitive rehabilitation, hospice and palliative care, home-based interventions, and the VA Health Care System. Implementation issues and necessary adaptations to CBT are discussed by the contributing authors. For example, the flexibility of CBT allows for briefer sessions in fast-paced clinics such as primary care, and tips for talking with medical providers are highlighted. Among the many professional journals in which his work appears include The Gerontologist, Clinical Gerontologist, Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology, American Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias.

The chapters were outlined in a very consistent manner covering epidemiological information, assessment strategies and treatment options.

I would recommend this book to any professional or student working with this population that plans on utilizing components of problem solving and cognitive behavior therapies.

Excellent information on how cognitive behavior therapy can improve patient outcomes.

Precious
I have to read this book for class and while I think there is probably a lot of good information in the book, it is hard to read due to the poor formatting when it was converted to a digital book. There are no page numbers, the table of contents is a guessing game and most importantly, the charts are horrible. Ampersands appear as such: &.. need I say more? I am annoyed I have to pay for this book.
