Among the many remarkable qualities of Kongjian Yu’s professional practice, three may be of particular interest to landscape architects around the world. First is the tremendous range of projects that his firm, Turenscape, has undertaken since Yu earned his Doctorate of Design degree from Harvard in 1995.

Kongjian Yu certainly is by far the best-known landscape architect from the People’s Republic of China. The work presents more than twenty of Turenscape’s most influential projects. Additionally, it contains eight essays written by Yu’s life companions and known university professors, an introduction by Saunders and an afterword by Charles Waldheim.

Among his most acclaimed projects are Houtan Park for Shanghai Expo, the Red Ribbon Park in Qinhuangdao, and Shipyard Park in Zhongshan. This book explores Yu's work in some ten essays by noted authors and extensively documents some 18 selected projects.
