Thank you Z'ev Ben Shimon for writing it and thank you Dr. Mitra Makbouleh for recommending i. Much of the book is devoted to understanding the correspondences and basic structures of the Kabbalistic tree - and the book is full of useful illustrations and information.

Drawing on ancient and modern material, the author correlates symbol and system with modern scientific thought and discoveries. Dealing with the origin and purpose of existence, this work sets out the Divine scheme of four interconnected universes that make up the macrocosm of angelics, demonics and the creatures of the Earth as well as the place and function of humanity. It offers a modern synthesis of the ancient and medieval Kabbalistic perspective of the Divine Plan.

A Kabbalistic Universe.

A Kabbalistic Universe is a general account of the origin and cosmic scheme of Creation and its inhabitants. In early times, Kabbalah was divided into two parts: the Work of the Chariot, concerned with human nature and the "interior" universe; and the Work of Creation, which is the study of the "exterior" universe of the Four Worlds, their origins, construction and function in relation to humanity and God. Using the Tree of Life as a key, Halevi enters into the mystery of this macrocosmic universe and explores its different levels of reality, how our world was created with its angelic and physical levels, and how evil entered it to contribute to the fall of mankind. Halevi focuses in particular on the role of humanity as a part of creation, which can exist throughout the worlds.

A friend well versed in metaphysics recommended this book to me as a well written introduction to the underlying foundation of creation from the Kabbalah. Frankly, I could not put the book down. Clearly, it resonated with me. I struggled a bit at first with the Hebrew words that were used ( I expected this) but found that by the end I became sufficiently comfortable with their use and meaning. As to the content, I experienced one 'ah-ha' after another as the book unfolded ... it put so many fragments coherently together for me that previously I had not been able to connect and introduced me to many other concepts necessary to for me to move forward in my study. I have not only started to re-read it again with a fresh new perspective, but I have also ordered another of Halevi's books, The Way of the Kabbalah, to better understand man and his role in creation.

I have read many books on the Kabbalah. A Kabbalistic Universe is probably the best one amongst all the ones I have read. It is easy to understand and at the same time it is adequately detailed. Thank you Z'ev Ben Shimon for writing it and thank you Dr. Mitra Makbouleh for recommending it. Of course it is not a book that can be retained with one reading and I plan to read it several times, but it is very pleasant reading.

Someone had recommended this book to me last year. I hesitated about buying it because the sugbject of Kabbala has, thanks to Madonna, gotten a bit commercial over the years. There is nothing commercial or frivolous about this book. It's not a quick read, that's for sure. You read a few pages and you put it down and think. Love, love, love this book. Will re-read it after I finish the five other books I'm reading.

One of the best Kabbalah books I have read!

This is an excellent introduction to the Kabbalah, written in easy to understand but rather profound language. Much of the book is devoted to understanding the correspondences and basic structures of the Kabbalistic tree - and the book is full of useful illustrations and information. One of the better "practical" Kabbalah books on the market.

This book is fantastic! It is very accessible to a beginner but still retains the complexity that naturally comes with outlining Kabbalah. Highly recommended. I didn't purchase my own copy off of Amazon because I was lucky to find one for very cheap elsewhere but the book is definitely worth purchasing.
