For Cassie and Thomas Grubb. He scoured ancient tomes, quizzed witches and wizards

For Cassie and Thomas Grubb. He scoured ancient tomes, quizzed witches and wizards. And he seized every spare moment to study the Book of Asper that his father had bequeathed to him. For in those pages, his father had said, was the answer to the terrible disaster on the other side of the world-in far Hadinland-that was slowly poisoning all the land and the seas. It was a race against extinction for humans and demons alike.

One thing at least is certain, the rest is lies. And they danced-danced, danced, danced-singing praises to the Gods as shell horns blew, drums throbbed and their beautiful young Queen cried out in ecstasy. She led them, tawny breasts jouncing, smooth thighs thrusting in the ancient mating ritual of the harvest festival. Safar danced with her, pounding his bare feet against the sand, rhythmically slapping his chest with open palms.

"When the Gods Awaken" the third and final chapter of the "The Timura Trilogy." As with the first two books can also be read as a stand-alone.

The world is dying while kings and warlord battle for supermacy. Grand Wizard, Lord Safar Timura is trapped in the doomed world of Hadin yet it isn't Hadin. He is condemned to suffer and die, over and over again.

At the same time Safar is suffering this torture, his half-demon half-human son, Prince Palimak, believes he is dead and builds a great army out of the refugees of Kyrania, now living on Syrapis. Palimak investigates Asper's tomb and kills a truly evil creatures. When he looks in the tomb after surviving the battle, he discovers Safar has replaced Asper's mummy.

There are many enemies, barbarian kings, monsters of the underworld--and, lording over all, the Demon Moon, which looms in silent, bloody challenge. Safar travels to Hadin with Palimak, Leiria, his a warrior lover, friends and allies, and a surprising ally, Iraj. They must destroy the doomspell and confront the sinister Demon Moon. Only then will the gods be awakened and the world saved.

While the trilogy has ended, I can only hope that there is one more book in the series. Oh, have you guessed yet that I will and am reading anything and everything that author Allan Cole writes. Having read his book "Lucky in Cyprus..." I was well prepared for this adventure. If you haven't read Cole before, do so. You'll be in for a real treat.

This was a okay time killer I had to remind my self to read it, it didn't inspire any particular sense of urgency or loyalty it wasn't awful but it was a little immature maybe it should be sold in the kids fiction section.

Safar Timura, a character modeled on Omar Khayyam, continues his desperate journey in this next volume of the Tales of the Timuras. In attempting to lead his uprooted people to a haven safe from the vengeance-mad Protarus, Safar finds himself rushing towards the volcanic destruction and personal doom he has anticipated in vision. Several excellent new characters are introduced in this volume, including a wonderfully conniving evil queen and her brutal ruler son, who provide even more complications as the hero tries to save not only his people, but ultimately the world. An unexpected ally also joins the group in the quest to stop the rapidly spiralling destruction and bring to consciousness the gods that have abandoned the world. A rousing tale of courage against odds, of desire versus duty, of ambition and corruption - adventure on a grand scale, along with the wonderful characters and interactions we have come to expect from Cole. Adrenalin-rousing episodes lead towards the awe-ful finale at Hadinland, where Safar plays out the final confrontation with fiery forces of evil and a resolution with Protarus. As an aside, I would recommend the British version of this book, which has additional scenes that do not appear in the slightly shorter American edition. An exciting, recommended series.

DEAD-SHOT
As I neared the end of The God's Awaken and was mentally drafting this review, I had planned on describing Book 3 as the "thrilling conclusion" to the series. Having finished the novel, however, I'm not so sure we've seen the last of Safar Timura. Call it a hunch. The novel's action starts fast and does not slow down, culminating in a very powerful ending that is, in my opinion, truly riveting -- Allan Cole writing at his best. The thing I like best about the Timura Trilogy is its flawed characters and the troubled relationships between them. In Book 1, we cannot help but feel that there is something not quite right with Iraj Protarus, but we¹re willing to overlook such misgivings for the sake of his and Safar's friendship. It all makes for powerful storytelling. Speaking of flawed characters, both real and imagined, you can imagine my delight when I learned that I was going to be a part of this wonderful series -- as a character in Book 3. Allan, my thanks to you for the many hours of reading pleasure and for the incredible honor of an alternate life as a demon most awful.Bob Rhodes, Southern California, aka King Rhodes, Syrapis

The 3 tome of the Tales of the Timuras are very good. And each of them show an other aspect of all the actors in this adventure, making this saga attractive enough to make me wait for a 4th book!
Only bad point would be the difference of book cover between the book 1-2 and the book 3 (Did the writer change his editing company! ) Same format I do agree but I like some order in my bookshell.
Buy them!

The first two books in the series are ok, not fantastic, just ok. The third book takes the characters that you are used to and just does stupid things with them. This book is tedious, i just wanted it to end. Nothing original at in in the series. Have i mentioned tedious?
