I don't want to spoil anything but I was surprisingly shocked by Bigger's Karmic departure at the end of the book, as well as the relationship between Ben and Nightshade and of course the birth of Ben and Willow's daughter. This book has surely set a new landscape for Witches Brew, (which I am reading now) allowing for an expansion of the storyline.

The first he focuses on Ben Holiday acclimating to Landover in the first place, the second has an enemy in the former court wizard Meeks who sold Ben the kingdom, and lastly we are dealing with the exiled prince Michel Ard Rhi, who became rich from the selling of his kingdom. It all seems like it is quite the nice setup from the start.
