I read this book about a month ago and have already forgotten most of it. (That's how good it was.) However, I do remember it being better than the first two Voyager relaunch books. I wasn't too keen on Chakotay's spirit bundle and dream sequences in the TV show so I was not looking forward to more of that in the books. I did like the references to some of the show's TV episodes - a walk down memory lane, if you will. But, in the end, I had an overwhelming feeling of relief after I finished Ms. Golden's run at the Voyager relaunch books.

**SPOILERS**

I think the best things Ms. Golden did for the series was to (1) keep Janeway alive (see Peter David's Before Dishonor and you will understand) and (2) break up Chakotay and Seven, two people who were almost never in the same room together during the TV series, much less the same conversation.

I loved Star Trek Voyager as well as TNG. To me, these were the two best series. I am glad always to see the series carried over into books. I have read some more recent Voyager stories recently in particular, Janeway coming back and Voyager returning to the Delta Quadrant. In all of these books, I was puzzled on how Tom Paris became the 2nd in command of Voyager and also how Chakotay had become Captain. This two book series was a pleasure to read because it finally filled in the gap of how Voyager became lead by Chakotay and Paris. It's a great story. I higly recommend it. This two-part series keeps you complete engaged. It's another great Star Trek Voyager story.

This Spirit Walk adventure into the post Voyager universe is a great deal of fun, filled with all our favorite characters and another crisis that only Voyager can solve. This story is fun and familiar Trek and keeps up a good pace. While these books aren't life changing works of fiction, they're 5 stars for fun on a trip with old friends.

What is this

This is the way to conclude a story. From the first book to this is a really good way to start and finish up a story line. Like to read more stories like this.

I am a fan of the Voyager TV series, and was happy to see the story continued in book series.

Let me start off by saying i love voyager, the series and while the homecoming books were okay, i still enjoyed them. These two books were so simply written it almost made me feel dumber while reading them. Yes, I found some pleasure in reading them because I`m hooked on Voyager and wanted to see what everyone was up to but the storyline was stupid. The whole part with Chakotay and his native american powers? The cat coming out into the real world? Where was Christie Golden going with this? It was just ridiculous.

So, I guess I can say that if you want to keep up on Voyager and you`re a fan, read the books. You`ll finish them both in about an hour. But don`t be looking for great writing and a profound storyline, like the Deep Space Nine books. And Christie, if you`re reading this review, step it up a little in your writing. More original ideas and write for adults, not third graders. We`re capable of a little more.

This book does a fair job of finishing the story "begun" in "Old Wounds", although really that book was itself a continuation of "Homecoming" and "The Farther Shore". I would not recommend reading this book unless you've read all of those, but if you have, you'll probably need to read this one in order to finally get something resembling a conclusion. The book is reasonably well-written, although there were points when the plot seemed a bit trite, and others where it was difficult to suspend disbelief. Generally if I have to choose between a book with a beginning and no end or an end but no beginning, I prefer the latter, but I don't think that this one is quite as satisfying as it should be. As such, it's just about even with Book I ("Old Wounds"). Personally, I'm not sure the the two-book set is really worth reading, but I suppose if you're planning on reading any later-written Voyager novels, you'll have to in order to have any idea of what's going on.
