The framework has been used to develop a new training approach to teach strategic knowledge that has been tested in three universities, and has affected the learning of more than 150 students. Our proposed approach takes into consideration both the importance and the relevance of a Web page associated with a query phrase.

First, a large number of learning-to-rank papers have been published at top conferences on machine learning and information retrieval. There have been multiple sessions in recent SIGIR conferences ded-icated for the topic on learning to rank. Some work focuses on the speed-up of the computation, while others focus on the renement and enrichment of the model.

This generalization operation is a base for number of text analysis application. PT-based relevance improve-ment stays within 7-9% as query complexity increases by a few keywords, and then increases to 9-11% as query becomes one-two sentences.

A large number of retrieval methods have been proposed in the past few decades. Without loss of generality, we divide ex-isting methods into three folds, namely document-wide approaches, passage-level approaches and hybrid approaches, based on what kind of relevance signals they rely on for relevance assessment. In this paper, we have introduced a hierarchical neural matching model to capture the diverse relevance patterns in ad-hoc retrieval. The model consists of two components, namely local matching layer and global decision layer.

Relevance is the concept of one topic being connected to another topic in a way that makes it useful to consider the second topic when considering the first. The concept of relevance is studied in many different fields, including cognitive sciences, logic, and library and information science. Most fundamentally, however, it is studied in epistemology (the theory of knowledge).
