Blacklight Blue book. He is married to writer Janice Hally and lives in France. This is the third in Peter May's series about Enzo Macleod, the former forensic expert and current university professor based in Cahors, France (near Toulouse), who has taken it upon himself as an amateur investigator to solve seven cold cases covered in a book by Roger Raffin.

This is the third book in Peter May’s Enzo Files series. seemed repetitive and overly long

This is the third book in Peter May’s Enzo Files series. Enzo is a Scottish forensic scientist who lives and works as a professor in Cahors, France. The continuing premise of the series is Enzo’s pursuit of solutions to the unsolved murders described in a book by a Parisian journalist. These cold cases are ripe for reexamination with the skills and tools of modern forensics. seemed repetitive and overly long. I had the feeling this may have been ghost written by someone else or perhaps he is having problems with his writing technique. Anything Peter May writes is enjoyed by my family. All of his books are different; he has not received the attention and publicity he deserves. We all would like to see that change in the future.

PETER MAY ~ - Blacklight Blue CD 04. Категория.

The Third Enzo Files. The book has short chapters much like the Spencer series by Parker. With Enzo as the prime suspect in a murder, he is led down a path of deception and intrigue throughout France, Spain and London. May’s vivid imagery, fully dimensional characters and unexpected humor completely draw the reader into the story. Although Enzo is portrayed as a roguish, impulsive ladies man, the loyalty towards his daughters proves him quite endearing.

Diagnosed with a terminal illness, Enzo Macleod is running out of time to crack the most confounding of unsolved French murders. His daughter is nearly killed, Enzo is mugged - and then he is arrested. Someone is trying to destroy his character. Someone is framing him for murder.

The Critic (The Enzo Files Peter May. Year Published: 2007. Listen to books in audio format instead of reading.

The Enzo Files", is set in France and is centred on the work of half-Italian, half-Scottish Enzo Macleod.

Enzo MacLeod, a Scot teaching on a faculty at Cahors in southwest France, confidently bet that he could use his expertise to crack seven notorious murders described in a book on cold cases by Parisian journalist Roger Raffin. Enzo has in fact solved the first two crimes. But the third is far from his mind right now: he’s just been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and he’s become the victim of someone who seems intent on destroying his credit and his relationships—and getting him arrested for murder. This is one instance where his Scottish stubbornness might pay off.Having established a safe house to protect his loved ones, besieged now as it were, he sets to work. Are his personal woes somehow connected to the digging he’s done into the brutal murder of a rent boy in a Paris apartment sixteen years ago, as Raffin has described? What further remnants of evidence can he review—and can he stay alive long enough to catch the long-hidden killer? This is the third installment in the Enzo MacLeod series.

Because of the continuing characters and the changes in their lives, this series is best read in order. There are also some continuing plot elements as well that would be confusing out of order. Peter May writes a good fast-paced story. The story is told well enough that one can ignore things that are not credible or times when our brilliant characters are dense. My husband and I both read this series. We have already pre-ordered the fourth book in the series.

If Enzo were interesting, as a character, setting an entire "mystery" around him and his children would work. He isn't, yet -- he isn't Guido Brunetti or Harry Hole, for example -- and so this is, for me, the least satisfying Enzo book yet. Plus, Peter May really needs to get some decent technology advice, 'cause the gadgetry in this one is implausible. Still, I've already pre-ordered the next Enzo, hoping May rights the ship and sails into more interesting waters.

Peter May always writes so well! The descriptions of France and the characters are totally believeable and very interesting. I found that I wanted to read on and at the same time didn't want the book to finish. Enzo is an interesting guy with a somewhat flawed history making the series compelling reading.i am reading the next book in the series now and it is just as good.

Disappointing. That a man as smart as Enzo is supposed to be could make such an obvious mistake - glaringly obvious to the reader long, long before it is revealed (without wishing to make a spoiler) - is just silly. The plot is not as extraordinarily convoluted as in Extraordinary People, but throughout the book I was wanting to shout "look behind you" (or words to that effect). Plus the number of dead bodies per page in the first part of the book is just absurd. If I hadn't already read and enjoyed several of his books, especially the Scottish ones, I doubt that I would read another.

Had some trouble following this book compared to the other Peter May books I have read...seemed repetitive and overly long. I had the feeling this may have been ghost written by someone else or perhaps he is having problems with his writing technique

Anything Peter May writes is enjoyed by my family. We buy his books by the entire series (The Enzo Files) give ;them at Christmas and them pass them around all year. All of his books are different; he has not received the attention and publicity he deserves. We all would like to see that change in the future.

Lots of intrigue and character surprises keep the reader hanging on through chilling nights, explosions and chases but it's still only an interlude. Not very satisfying.

I always enjoy following the fortunres and misfortunes of Enzo and his family and working colleagues. Peter May does a very good job in humanizing him.
