On a deeper level, this reflects the fact that it is the book in which our identity (name) as a nation is forged.

There is NO second book of deuteronomy. in the chrisitan religion, they are called the pentateuch (pent meaning five), the first five books of the hebrew scriptures, or old testament. in the jewish faith they are called the Torah or The Law. Depending on religion, people call them different things. Any of these names are acceptable because they all mean the same thing. it just depends on your situation.
