Saint David's Day is the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, and falls on 1 March, the date of Saint David's death in 589 AD. The feast has been regularly celebrated since the canonisation of David in the 12th century (by Pope Callixtus II), though it is not a national holiday in the UK. Traditional festivities include wearing daffodils and leeks, recognised symbols of Wales and Saint David respectively, eating traditional Welsh food including cawl and Welsh rarebit, and women wearing.

Alfred Ernest Jones FRCP MRCS (1 January 1879 – 11 February 1958) was a Welsh neurologist and psychoanalyst. Jones was the first English-speaking practitioner of psychoanalysis and became its leading exponent in the English-speaking world.

This means that it is difficult to tell which aspects of the St David’s story are true and which are legend. St David travelled widely throughout Wales, Cornwall in the south-west of England, Brittany in France and possibly to Ireland and Jerusalem. He founded several churches and a monastery in Wales and eventually became an archbishop. St.

It is the norm for adults to wear/pin leeks or daffodils, the Welsh national symbols, to their clothing. The Red Dragon is worn as a pin. Children sometimes wear the traditional national costume, which was once worn in rural Wales
