Mackinaw Honolulu Connection book.

Ronald Lewis has written a wonderful novel with intrigue and mystery. He takes the reader from Mackinaw Island to Hawaii, complete with wonderful descriptions of the locations. You can tell that he has actually traveled to the places he writes about. One person found this helpful.

watching to future

This is, quite simply, the worst book I have ever read. Ineptly written, prone to ridiculous digressions about cars, food, boats, whatever happens to randomly cross the author's mind. And random is the word: characters abruptly decide to sneak aboard boats to Singapore, blurt out descriptions of their super-secret organizations to completely uninvolved people, or rehash the details of a plot point that occurred five pages before. When a character needs to be killed, another is introduced to do the deed and then never heard of again. Characters are described in a way that suggests the author has never actually met a another human being. The main character, a complete wish-fulfillment (an accounting professor, no less, in a book written by... wait for it! an accounting professor) occasionally rants about his political views (authoritarian conservative, natch), makes weak attempts at wit (that have to be labeled as such, or else you'd never get that he was trying to be funny and chalk it up to more random blather), and frequently explains why he just can't get intimate with the multiple women who are inexplicably attracted to him (his Christian principles, which never come up in any other context).

Oh, and the book describes, over and over, how he always rents a Buick when he travels. I wonder what kind of car the author drives?

And the prose... oh, the prose. Simply unbelievably bad. I highly recommend this book to connoisseurs of bad writing, because this is really, honestly, no jive, the worst book I have ever encountered.

Bonus badness: the (random, of course, having no bearing on the plot) revelation (presumably this is a link to one of the author's earlier novels) that the previous Governor of Michigan was *Hitler's son*.
