It's hard to get too into the details of this sprawling book without reciting the entire plot.
With "The Trade," Stenson takes on the harsh world - physically, emotionally, and economically - of the early 19th century fur trade in North America. This book is a good companion to the recent bloody film, "The Revenant," although not nearly so grisly. It's hard to get too into the details of this sprawling book without reciting the entire plot.
