I have the twin challenges of teaching people in my organization about Six Sigma concepts and how to use JMP. This book accomplishes both very well. Novice (3 mo to 1 yr) JMP users can easily follow along using the datafiles. Even though the book uses JMP8, following along with JMP11 is not an issue. The case study approach works well to teach the concepts. One of the case studies was featured in a JMP webcast:

My organization will be buying more copies of this book.

A note about the print editions. I bought my first book directly from SAS. The paper was rough and beige. The legibility of the screen shots was terrible. The edition that I bought from Amazon is printed on smooth, white paper and is about half as thick as the other version. Legibility is excellent.

I'm on my second reading. Can't wait for the new version coming out. I'm in finance and marketing, not traditional six sigma playgrounds. It doesn't matter. The case studies include two on marketing and pricing issues. But the reader will find even the industrial case studies absorbing as the team in each study works through the process and applies the JMP software.

Learned so many hacks and tips on how to use JMP. I have over 2 dozen books on JMP. This is by far the best. Can't even do justice to how valuable this book was in opening up a whole new way to look at business problems. If I could give it 10 stats I would.

I have had the good fortune of taking courses at the University of New Hampshire with both Dr. Gaudard and Dr. Ramsey. Both professors have a true passion for teaching and making statistics meaningful. This passion is exemplified in this text. During the summer of 2011, I used this textbook for a course in Six Sigma and quality control methodology with Dr. Ramsey. I cannot recommend Visual Six Sigma enough. A MUST for all interested in learning meaningful Six Sigma Methods!

This book contain many examples and case studies for showcasing JMP's data analysis capabilities. Very good text for demonstrating what and how the JMP tools can be used.

This is an AMAZING book, I am a new Black Belt six sigma practitioner, read many books before but this book was an exceptionable hand-on guided book. Many practical cases, with great way of introducing the concepts (as if you are sitting in the mind of the thinker).

I didn't even finish the book, but I consider this book one of the excellent books I read about six sigma deployment.

Note: From my point of view, You need to have JMP version 8, to really see the great value in that book. The book depends on step-by-step deployment using JMP 8. I am not sure how Minitab users can follow-up with the examples.

In general I really like this book.
